The mouth is the only thing that looks different to me.
Like I get it, you liked your character and it's not nice to see it change but this is such a little difference in my eyes.

As someone who liked the first benchmark better and had it changed because of the feedback (I'm not belittleing the feedback here) just... accept it at this point.
Everyone knew change was coming.

If they keep listening to this feedback the whole update can be rolled back because there will always be someone who is unhappy.

Actually, the part I felt most out of place was the eyes.
Not to mention that the shape of her eyes has changed, her pupils have become larger than their original size and color has became greyer. How can a living person's pupils be grey instead of black?(Although they are characters, not living people I am all well aware of that.) I can't get rid of the thought that every time I look into her eyes, feels like looking the eyes of a dead fish...

While the changes are kinda subtle, I really don't like how they softened my character's facial features, even if it's not by much, it kinda feels like they infused my character with 10% G'raha face, and while some people absolutely love him, I absolutely hate Male Miqo' face (3?) and don't find it pleasant to look at, so it's kinda disappointing having it forced onto me.

Oh well, I'll tweak it with a fantasia at some point, just not now when logging out means waiting in a 2500+ person queue

Yes, Aura Face 2 seems to be one of the types that changed the most. It's really sad for those who liked the original distinctive face.

The best I could do to fix the new dead-eyed stare and permanently pursed but cheerful (?) lips was to add limbal rings, more eye make-up and change the mouth altogether. Eyes still look dead but at least more awake, the mouth is the hollywood glam lips which is the only option better than 3 types of small pursed lips. I can't do anything about the no- longer-round face shape because the other options are worse. Even with spending a fantasia to make minor changes, it doesn't come close to how expressive the faces were before, which was great for rp. I'm just hoping the ffxiv devs read the forum's feedback and improve them again in upcoming patches because this aspect of the 'update' is a solid step back from where they were.

I wasted my fantasia going back and forth, to just end up back where I was to begin with. I just wasn't happy with any of my presets. They all feel off to some degree. Maybe my viera the least. My Au Ra face 1 is passable, but still feels off. I literally just couldn't decide, but I certainly don't like how my face 4 miqo'te looks. The eyes just don't look right anymore. She doesn't feel as distinct. The nose, which is a huge thing for a face 4 miqo, doesn't seem as cute or pronounced.

Yes, that's actually the case.

Subtle changes to a person's face can make them unrecognizable. This is a simple fact. Look up Jennifer Grey.
