Actually...it have something to do with yosh's marketing plan. You know "new expansion sell new job". If they don't use the idea that could fix drk to create gnb or make gnb a dps. It wouldn't turn out this horribly.

All potency of DRK increased.
Is the update now good or keep its bad?
SE : We heard you hate soul eater combo and living shadow jutsu so we increased soul eater combo potency and simulacrum potency. Enjoy your boring life for the next 2 years.

Soul Eater combo potency is probably a mix of per-expansion melee damage enhancement and also to make up for lost Plunge potency. Same with simulacrum potency. But yeah, it's boring.
Do we have any info if Bloodweapon / Delirium stacks grant 1000MP rather than 600MP to make up for the lost stacks or is this another thing they felt necessary to delete?

The only copium we have right now is that each bit of the Scarlet Delirium Combo now specifically say Additional Effect: Restore MP.
So either the numbers are nerfed and they just put that there because of the Delirium MP effect and nothing has changed in regards to the nerf
or alternatively the extra mp was attached to that combo and we'll be procing 3 MP regens at the same time
No one knows yet and we wont know til live

At first I thought the potency increase because they were making up for us losing 200+ potency with plunge. But then I saw WAR get a buff to fell cleave. Looks like most of DRK damage was just pushed into the new delirium and living shadow. Hopefully that makes a difference

I'll never understand why people focus so much on potencies going up. It doesn't matter to the gameplay in the slightest in vacuum, they will go "up" across the board and boss HP balanced so that trials and raids will take about as much as they do now. It really only matters in relation to other jobs (which will be kept in similar balance they are now, in a patch or two) and between the different abilities.
And even for the latter... Under the 120s-spend-all meta, you'll just use everything during burst without caring much about potency priority, so does it really make a difference how it's delegated between skills? As long as it doesn't create some silly meme-rotation situation.

It matters when it comes to damage variance. Having all your potency spread out between multiple abilities means you do not suffer quite as much from that ability not critting. If a majority of your damage is in 1-2 abilities it can make your overall dps jump wildly depending on whether or not those abilities crit under the 30%+ buff windows.I'll never understand why people focus so much on potencies going up. But ask the Gunbreakers how it feels when Double Down doesn't crit during your 2-min burst.
It could mean less bloodspiller because bw/delirium now only increase bg for 3 hits instead of 5. We don't like bloodspiller but reduce bloodspiller and make us use more souleater instead of create sometimes better is a big yike. It isn't a better alternative.
