Oh this topic again.

Oh this topic again.

I see the actual reason this won't ever happen was already posted.
No because capitalism.
Glamours in game are free advertising for the Mogstation.
'Nice gear! How can I get that?'
'Credit Card!'
Got a bit of deja-vu from this topic
IMO, definitely add this setting. This doesn't hurt anyone's "freedom of expression". Just because Player X decides they want to change the way they personally see everyone else does not remove any facilities from the glamoured player.
If it's a just a blanket setting that changes literally EVERY other player, I don't see how someone could reasonably be upset about their appearance being changed. Does it hurt people's freedom of expression that you can have their names completely abbreviated via an easily accessible setting?
Anyway, just give us a setting that changes everyone into artifact gear, or give us a key item like the aether compass that toggles on/off a view of the world that pierces glamours. Player X gets their world immersion, Player Y still gets their neon frog glam. Literally a win-win.

People here will really complain about a bunny boy wanting to wear the 2B boots ruining their immersion but will immediately mod on some of the ugliest ass hairstyles ddd.
I don't wanna look ugly and basic on my screen on yours because you think my lala isn't "serious" enough for "immersion". shrugs

Allow player to set "Cutscene glamour plate" (for themselves).
-You can run around in piggy mascot suit as you please, but in cut scene you look like badass.
Allow players to turn glamours on/off/AF gear in cities and overworld.
Allow on/off/AF gear choice for other player in cutscenes.
I kind of find this whole line of request disturbing. That we're so annoyed and/or offended by the nerve of people expressing themselves harmlessly that we literally want the ability to not see them. How is it immersion-breaking? The person next to you in a frog outfit did all the same stuff you did. They took down despots and saved lives -- whole stars, in fact, all while wearing a frog outfit. They're just as much the hero as you are. What you're saying is that there are appropriate things to wear and not when saving the world. It really does kind of all feed into our societal norms of who is acceptable to be the hero. The Roe in the 2B pants doesn't match your idea of what a "hero" looks like. Why not? That's what I want to know.
The key problem with this is that the ratio of people that look absolutely ridiculous is going to skyrocket if you globally disable glamours. Instead of having the occasional nude guy or Chocobo outfit guy, you're going to have 85% of everyone wearing a random mishmash of gear that looks completely absurd together. This maybe wouldn't be too bad for early ARR leveling gear where they still kinda followed the 1.0 armor design aesthetic, but by the time you get to level 90 combat you'll have people wearing a glowy, intricate dark black metal chestpiece, with silver dainty gloves, green metal greaves of a different texture, etc., which to me is even more immersion breaking than having someone in my party be a goofball. Maybe there could be an 'immersive' setting where all players other than yours show up as wearing the full set of whatever unglamoured chestpiece they're wearing or something, and in cases where that doesn't work, just generically apply their level-appropriate artifact gear instead. After so many years of seeing outlandish, ridiculous, out of place glamours, I just want an option to turn everything to stock.
I don't care if it's a square game, it's so utterly fantasy breaking to see people wearing the stupidest glams known to man.
Completely naked people running in fighting main bosses, just absolutely demolishes the cool factor of the game.
You wanna see it, fine, give me the option to turn it off.
I'm so tired. So very tired of it.

Maybe because a lot of people are fed up with male characters in women's clothes? If you want to be a woman, then play one! But no, then we are no longer that one special snowflake among all the others.I kind of find this whole line of request disturbing. The LBGTQ community constantly demands tolerance, but then has zero tolerance towards everyone else. We are supposed to accept you and in return you insult women by calling them "cis".
If you want tolerance, then start with yourselves. I want to have the choice of what I see in my game and as soon as a suggestion is made, the people from the LBGTQ community start screaming the loudest again.
As I said, wear whatever you want, but let me decide whether I want to see it or not. And the job-specific equipment is sufficient to hide unwanted glamour. It's not about skimpy clothing, it's about aesthetics and immersion.
I want to experience the story of the game and not see men to my left and right wearing B2 boots, thongs and some animal head (usually a frog or chicken) in bright colors.
I also don't want to see half-naked women who have never looked at themselves in a mirror before charging at humanity.
Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!
