Please, let me just turn off glamours

After so many years of seeing outlandish, ridiculous, out of place glamours, I just want an option to turn everything to stock.

I don't care if it's a square game, it's so utterly fantasy breaking to see people wearing the stupidest glams known to man.

Completely naked people running in fighting main bosses, just absolutely demolishes the cool factor of the game.

You wanna see it, fine, give me the option to turn it off.

I'm so tired. So very tired of it.

I honestly wouldn't be entirely against this. Even better, let us do it on a character-by-character basis. Actually, even better, let us blacklist individual items, so we don't have to see certain glamours with items we don't care for. What I wouldn't give to never have to see a frog head again...

First of all, that wouldn't necessarily result in less ridiculous-looking characters, especially those in the middle of leveling/gearing up. But I pretty strongly disagree with taking away other people's freedom of expression, even client-side, especially in an MMO. I say this as someone who also generally prefers more immersive glams.

An option to turn people not on your friendlist to look like random generic NPCs would be hilarious.

A system where you glam your party/raid (only viewable by you) is something would unironically sink hours into.

Think something like the Squadron glam system but for people you group with

Not quite what you're looking for but will partially help when it comes to those you encounter on a regular basis wearing glamours that you find obnoxious.

Beginning with Patch 7.0, registering a character to your blacklist will hide them from view, and this will apply to all characters on the blacklisted character’s service account. Please note that this will only be applied to characters blacklisted after Patch 7.0.

An exception will be made when character visibility is necessary, such as being in the same party during a duty; blacklisted characters will be visible, but their name will show up as “Unknown.” A notification will hide the contents of their chat messages, but you’ll be able to tell when they are speaking in chat. A subcommand will allow you to temporarily see the contents of their ensuing messages, if you so choose.

I do want to point out that end game gear doesn't looks all that much better than what people glamour, especially when you have a mix of Tombstone, Raid and Crafted gear that people can be wearing.

In real life, can you turn off or block from seeing a piece of clothing people wear?

Imagine if we had two glam sets: one for battle, and one for casual life...

You do realize Square Enix want everybody to see and buy cash shop glams, and see content reward glams to entice doing content, right?
