Again, that's less than a single percentage point of the player base, not even 0.04%, it's popular on here because there probably isn't even a thousand people browsing the NA forums.
More like Twitter had something to do with that, considering that platform is far more vocal and wider reaching than here, they probably just called it forum feedback to make it sound like they were listening to the forums.
I'm not really understanding the apathy toward the healer situation. Unbalanced tanks ruin the game for everyone, every dungeon run. A bad healer ruins the run some of the time for some people, and it's unclear if any particular job or encounter design even affects those players positively or negatively. It's just that simple. Getting the message out here could inspire someone on Twitter to talk about it, or perhaps even someone with more influence.Again, that's less than a single percentage point of the player base, not even 0.04%, it's popular on here because there probably isn't even a thousand people browsing the NA forums.

And if you don't think it's a problem then please inform your dear leader who makes YouTube videos for a living laughing the problem up as the joke that it is. I'd laugh too if I thought dev incompetence was funny.
At least Xenosys gets paid and he doesn't even defend the game. Forum users seemingly do it without compensation for no reason??? This is a well agreed upon problem.
And just to be ultra clear-- yes there are edge cases of tanks and healers who can't get it together even as things are now. Yet time has shown dumbing down the game hasn't made those players disappear. It's almost like certain people are just going to play non optimally or badly no matter what. So make the roles engaging and balanced.

Ah yes, lets gloss over the fact that I said I think healers should be more engaging, naught but 4 posts before your's, that I am in AGREEMENT with healers needing a better kit that isn't just "Spam your DPS button over and over and over and over and over again, oops, tank lost 5% of their HP better use a small oGCD." You clearly focused on the "tanks require healing skills because bad healers" part, and then assert this ridiculous notion that I watch someone I could care less about? I don't watch ANY XIV Youtuber outside of MTQ for guides when I don't have the time to blind prog the run myself with friends. We wouldn't have the issues of tanks needing healing for themselves if everyone did their job right, but here we are, we have DPS who can't even do simple AoE rotations, healers who don't use any healing and just play as a green DPS, and then tanks who somehow never learned how to press more than 5 buttons.I'm not really understanding the apathy toward the healer situation. I wholeheartedly agree that they should stop dumbing down the game, I genuinely hate each and every single update that simplifies a job past the point of necessity, just so they can get the lowest common denominator to play the job. I'd love to revert some of the changes to jobs to give them back their mechanical complexity, it'd return what made this game genuinely fun sometimes.
Then why are you trying to silence a movement designed around rebalancing the game in alignment with your own preferences? Are people not protesting right enough for you? Doesn't really make any sense.Ah yes, lets gloss over the fact that I said I think healers should be more engaging, naught but 4 posts before your's, that I am in AGREEMENT with healers needing a better kit that isn't just "Spam your DPS button over and over and over and over and over again, oops, tank lost 5% of their HP better use a small oGCD." If you're only in the thread to say it's all pointless, then thanks I guess? Someone made a YouTube video about it already with over 3k views.
Imo, this one of the rarest forms of criticism the forums have ever seen. It's coherent, respectful, devoid of childish outbursts. What's not to like exactly?

Okay, so please tell me where I am trying to silence the topic, instead, here we are having discourse about it. I'm calling the thread pointless, because it's in a place that maybe 0.01% of the player base will ever use, and you cite a video that has over 3k views, which is good, that means someone here had enough sense to do so, rather than just continually spouting "I'm not going to play healer for DT." like them saying anything is going to make an impact in regular joe schmoe's life in the game, who doesn't use the forums, because Discord exists. I just don't understand the idea that sitting here in a forum thread is some how the smartest play, and is going to get the most traction for the changes you're looking forThen why are you trying to silence a movement designed around rebalancing the game in alignment with your own preferences? There was already a thread way before Kotaku made their news article 2 months ago.I'd like to poke in and point out that this also exists:
https://kotaku.com/final-fantasy-14-...ork-1851432853
And this is before the strike. So... Its a thing that's out there.

I don't think you understand the point of this thread. We don't expect massive sweeping changes immediately, most of us are just tired of the healer role being so shafted every single expansion so we're just choosing to no longer play it. This thread is to connect with others who feel the same way and spread awareness of the issue.I'm calling the thread pointless, because it's in a place that maybe 0.01% of the player base will ever use, and you cite a video that has over 3k views, which is good, that means someone here had enough sense to do so, rather than just continually spouting "I'm not going to play healer for DT." like them saying anything is going to make an impact in regular joe schmoe's life in the game, who doesn't use the forums, because Discord exists. You can see most of the people who are joining will say that they don't expect anything to change immediately. If this whole thing ends up impacting the queues and makes the dev team rethink, then that's great. If it doesn't, then it doesn't matter to most of us because we'll be off enjoying other roles/games. Most people have already given up on the healer role after 6 years of stagnation anyway.
We are not trying to enact massive immediate change, we are tired of how our role is being treated and choose to stop engaging in it. That is the point.

Any survey taker would love to have 1000 people give their opinion to give a representation of the overall population.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
