I suggested a trait upgrade so to give room for a brand new Demi as the 3rd one. We could still get a new flashy Bahamut and something else without overly crowding the rotation with Demis.Comparing ffvii summons to mmo rotations is apples to oranges. We'll start out with regular bahamut, do an eikon phase, get fired up with phoenix, do another eikon phase, and then we enter solar bahamut for the climax of the rotation. Then another eikon phase and the loop starts over with regular bahamut. It's more exciting this way. If it was just a trait upgrade, the job would play the same with newer animations and higher potency.
Personally I don't get the disappointment, but to each their own. Everyone wants different stuff and you can only get one outcome.
It would make sense to have it as the opener because then it would line up with raid buffs, but yeah that cycle seems excessively long. At the same time though, it makes it so solar bahamut always lines up with 60/120sec raid buffs. Seems logical to me and more satisfying to always maximize potency for raid buff windows. You'll have the super solar bahamut on 120 second windows, and the more chill one on 60 second windows.
So you think summoner should get 2 new demi summons in one expansion? That's a lot of budget for one job. Also it's a waste of current bahamut to just phase it out. The animations have their own identity and the asset of bahamut itself is really good.
They made 3 whole demi's when they reworked the class in EW. Why would anything less be out of the realm of possibility?
Those are direct asset recycles of primals from ARR lol. Solar bahamut is brand new just like phoenix was when it was added. I had this idea in another thread though, that going forward they could add a unique set of three eikons for each demi summon's followup. Right now bahamut phoenix and solar bahamut all unlock the same 3 ifrit garuda and titan. Going forward from 8.0 that would potentially mean adding 3-6 new eikons to really lean heavily into the summoner job fantasy.
Don't play summoner but this is probably untrue given it looks like the new bahamut is using the skeleton and possibly the entire model (with a material change). The direction they took was to save resources, they won't outright say that but it is very apparent. I feel bad for SMNers tbh, saving money on a class they cut down to save money on is ironic at best lel. Still, there will people to defend this which is baffling to me.Those are direct asset recycles of primals from ARR lol. Solar bahamut is brand new just like phoenix was when it was added. i understand theres a demographic that doesnt want shiva ramuh and leviathan, but it's not everyone. and simply by looking at the threads on the forum, both in English forum and Japanese forum, the demographic that wants to have shiva ramuh and leviathan is far bigger than the one that doesn't. yes you cant please everyone, but the least you can do is pleasing the obvious majority to minimize backlash. You can never please everyone. Personally I have zero interest in shiva ramuh or leviathan as summons and would take solar bahamut over all 3 any day. I understand there is a demographic that wants shiva ramuh and leviathan, but it's not everyone. I would even take a third bahamut or a second phoenix over shiva ramuh and leviathan personally.
What's your point? You think you should get what you want because you're throwing a fit on the forums with a few other people? This community is so entitled and unappreciative. I feel bad for the devs honestly. They do such great work and the english forums are so bitter and jaded.i understand theres a demographic that doesnt want shiva ramuh and leviathan, but it's not everyone. and simply by looking at the threads on the forum, both in English forum and Japanese forum, the demographic that wants to have shiva ramuh and leviathan is far bigger than the one that doesn't. yes you cant please everyone, but the least you can do is pleasing the obvious majority to minimize backlash.
Unless Solar has some underlying special mechanics going for it I'm not too keen on the S.Bahamut > Bahamut > S.Bahamut > Phoenix fixed rotation they got going here. 4 minutes to Phoenix and most fights last less then 4 minutes.
Players are overall underwhelmed compared to last expansion where you got 3 baller summon attacks on top of summon attacks with a number of charges to use.
It's such a baffling design choice to me. SMN is becoming Bahamut Cultist.
You either misunderstand my point, or you're in denial that my counter argument to yours is irrefutable. Either way I'll take that as my win. now move along. What's your point?
