    I think the reality is that they learned the hard way that they cannot do class changes "piecemeal" - otherwise meta's form and classes fall behind others. I see DT as a "Hard reset" as the DT classes remind me more of ARR without attribute points and cross classing skills. They are leveling out the classes because if we see a Xpack after Dawntrail I suspect classes are going to drastically alter - but to do that change in production means flattening the classes first sadly.

    I called out the tank changes back in EW when they began tweaking potencies - I would love to see some sort of rat-tail mechanic with the evolution of jobs into a more complex gameplay design for those that want to min-max which is really what I think people want but at the same time having the base jobs still be able to clear the content if you know the fight and are putting in a modicum of effort.

    well the expansion after DT will be a stat squish expansion AND most likely a lvl squish expansion where we go back to lvl 50 and cap goes to 60.

    and with a lvl squish they will either have to smash 100 lvls of skills into 50 or do a big change on the jobs. i feel either will be fine because if they smash 100 lvls of skills into 50 it fixes the lvl sync ruins my skills problem (at least temporarily) and if they just change the jobs altogether it would be a good time to work on the identity problem some players have.

    also it will be a good time to do the story cut to help players get to endgame without doing 6 expansions of content

    where players just do story to 50 then get to jump straight into new expansion or continue and see old expansions first.

    It's been said before that with level 100 being a very iconic max level for the series, that after DT we will likely stay at level 100 and explore alternative levels of progression. I don't foresee a level squish. While it's entirely possible that Yoshi P could change his mind on that topic, I think just not increasing the level cap at all and doing something else is the better long-term solution anyway.

    I've been thinking some interpretation of the Sphere Grid could be really interesting.

    Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.

    we will definitly not leave the leveling system in 8.0 it will be lvl 110 or 60.

    i say 60 because WoW did the lvl squish and so the chances are we will too.

    i will also say the idea of doing any form of progress outside of lvling is outside of SE's comfort zone for this game, and honestly goes against the 10 years the game has gone on. now i will say maybe they will, we definitly wont know til half way through dawntrail just this seems like a drastic change on top of the drastic change people want which is a overhaul of the job system which if both of these things are done wrong at the same time will kill the game and i feel that's a risk that SE won't take. but again that's just my thoughts on it.

    Right, but the point is that level 110 would just be "half-hearted" or "half-assed" as it was otherwise translated by Japanese speakers on twitter. And I can't imagine a level squish would feel any less half-assed if he feels going passed level 110 would be.

    I mean, it's really not something that matters to argue, but I just don't think assuming it's going to be as shallow as just more levels or squishing levels is the right approach.
