Goes to show how out of touch Yoshida is, and that he isn't that great of a director/producer that the people in this community try to make him out to be. Albeit it was smart idea to use WoW as a base for Realm Reborn (+HW and SB), but when trying to make the game his own, look how bland and awful the systems have become over the last two expansions. A MMORPG that has neither the MMO nor the RPG elements any longer. He claims they are going to try to back the MMO experience, but they haven't really done a great job implementing any systems he's talked about thus far.

I very much doubt that they will honor those words in the future. I don't think this job identities rework will actually happen, sad but true.

edit: What I mean is, in the pre-EW they recognized that a lot of players were unhappy with the battle design, so I would imagine that if they really wanted to improve the job design, they would have done it by now in DT, or at least they would be taking some steps in that direction. So, I would say don't expect it to happen in 8.0.
They'll most likely try to walk it back or blame the community for having "too much expectations" again. Only way a combat system rework/job design rework will be believable is if announced they have hired on another two dozen or so developers to work on it, and maybe ship off the current ones somewhere else cause they have no idea what they're doing.


At the end of the day CBU3 is a part of Square Enix, and Square Enix wouldn't be Square Enix without making bad decisions.
