Well I was hoping they would finish making the summoner job but was already bracing myself for just getting 1 extra summon per expansion but even I could not predict that it would just be Bahamut 2.
Like that's a cool model visually but really? Of all the summons of the FF universe you could have come up to give us at a 100 capstone it's Bahamut again... that is like wild that this went through.

as a massive Bahamut fan since I was a kid, I'm okay with that. But they really need to do more, the rest of the job is just so threadbare mechnically. It's visually dope but a snoozefest to play.

Just to point out, once new Bahamut goes, the gauge turns into the normal Bahamut gauge, so it isn't a direct replacement.

I never said it was a replacement I said it was Bahamut again. Like even gameplay aside even on paper if you were pitching me on the 100 level capstone skill being a cooler looking Bahamut I'd be still why? We already have Bahamut. Like what's next for 8.0? I cooler looking Phoenix? Feels pretty fair to kinda feel that's a pretty weird and uninspired direction.
I'm not even gonna go into just the general vibe about how EW summoner felt like they delivered 60% of a job concept and what this slow trickle is gonna mean for the job in the next 3 expansions.

Phoinix from P3 as the capstone with every other new skill being combo steps for each Gemshine recolor.

We MCH mains have said for years now that expecting a completely reworked job to grow in the following expansion is equal to being on copium. Guess we were right.

Very unfortunate about smn; with so many primals in this game and they just get the same one reskinned. At this point just add summon glamours and make it easy on yourselves square enix; no need to come up with new mechanics when using a glamour system.

I feel they'd either add a new Demi or a 3 new gemstone summons, not both, since that's a lot of new things for just one xpac. Assuming they chose Demi for Dawntrail to alternate between that and gems.

That being said, of all summonable creatures in the franchise, there's absolutely no justification to choose yet another bahamut variation.
