No, I complain that, as such a gigantic company, they are not able to take preventative measures, those are two different things
a 7 layer DDoS attack is really difficult to ward against or the likes, if you educated yourself a bit by looking it up, you would see that, you need to put your complaints about those that perform it and further more all the people that has been infected by this little bot tool that then sends traffic to the server.
It could be everything, from your car to washing machine, litterally anything connected to a network that sends these messages to the server.
I'm sure they are taking lots of preventative measures, but no shield of protection is perfect forever, especially with a motivated and well-equipped attacker.
Until we have evidence that SE's attempts at protecting themselves were negligent somehow, attacking them for being attacked seems wrong.
It seems, that TeliaSonera/Twelve99 has issues and not the FF14 servers.

WoW has suffered plenty of DDoS attacks before, and its quite frankly owned by a much larger and arguably more network suave company than Square Enix.
DDoS is one of the hardest things to defend against purely because of the chaotic nature of it, along with the fact its one of the easiest attacks to increase at scale. Your first attack failed? Bring 10x the amount of infected devices the next time. You will eventually manage to overwhelm their preventative measures, no matter how strong.
Even Google, Amazon, Microsoft, companies with some of the strongest network security in existence by spending billions upon billions in preventative measures, have had their services impacted by DDoS before. Even just last year, Azure, outlook & onedrive has service interruptions due to the effects of a titanic DDoS attack against them.
As annoying as it is, DDoS is just something we have to live with. The amount of money Square Enix would need to invest in preventative measures is far too high for how very little they get DDoS'd (Even then, its not guaranteed their protections will be strong enough if the attackers come back with an even bigger botnet). It's easier for them to just give out free time in the random chances it happens and occurs for longer than 1-2 days.
You did it! You said the thing!!
They do not get impacted for days on end. Days.Even Google, Amazon, Microsoft...have had their services impacted by DDoS before
Why is Square Enix so immune to any form of criticism whatsoever? Even the shareholders are critical, and they own the company.
You omitted the answer from the very same post you quoted.
No MMO is going to invest hundreds of millions into DDoS protection when these attacks don't cost them anywhere near that much. The big tech companies cannot afford to go down globally for a day, FFXIV can. It's just a fact.As annoying as it is, DDoS is just something we have to live with. The amount of money Square Enix would need to invest in preventative measures is far too high for how very little they get DDoS'd (Even then, its not guaranteed their protections will be strong enough if the attackers come back with an even bigger botnet). But given you omitted that part and strawmanned the post into a criticism shield, I don't think you are here for constructive discussion anyway. Also, it's not like a DDoS is an everyday occurrence for this game. The last time i remember an attack as bad as Monday's was way back in 2018, this game has not suffered a major DDoS attack in a very long time.
