I don't know tbh maybe it was some weird gotcha about me not having the solution to the problem..... even though I made that very clear.
To expand a bit: I know enough that I know I don't know enough and I don't want to give some vapid answer.

Yeah it is an issue with the new payment system they use, which is probably with a different company than previously because payment gateway are often related to 3rd paty vendors. I dont believe its a worldwide Visa issue, I can still purchase stuffs with my Visa debit on other games.
As a sidenote (not specifically for you, but Im just including this in the post), since this has been a long, well known issue even before the payment system update, I find it surprising to see people still going out of their way to defend SE. A better store and payment system will benefit all of us. Try to think in a bigger picture, its not about regions. No need to shame people who dont live in your country. If you dont have the problem, good Im happy for you. But Im sure if this happens to you, you will be just as annoyed.

You might want to have a word with yourself. Even the start of your post is already disrespectful. But lets talk about this fraud you were talking about. If SE did ban several regions by making it so that players outside of supported regions arent able to register an account (like so many other MMOs did), then its a fair game. If its the players who used VPN or some other services to bypass the restrictions then so be it, the players are in fault in this case. Because thats bypassing the system. You need to work on your English. I didn't call you frauds. I said some were engaging in a form of fraud.
The EULAs for each region spell out what countries a player can reside in to purchase a game license for that region. By accepting the EULA after installing the game and anytime we are required to reconfirm our acceptance of the EULA, you are intentionally misrepresenting yourself to get access to the game if you do not reside in one of the listed countries.
That is considered fraud. Something doesn't have to be criminal or financial in nature to be considered fraud.
But they didnt. And before this whole payment system update, I did actually update my account personal info through a ticket which required me to submit private information, including location, to confirm my ownership as per standard procedure. And the support helped me change it with no problem, even if I wrote multiple times something like "I am sorry for filling the address with the text 'SEA' because I dont live in the US but I had friends who played there thats why I chose NA region". And they were fine with it. Here you are talking about EULA and frauds. If I broke it, I would have been banned straight up for admitting Ive been playing the game from a "non supported region".
Also have you noticed that Oce was once a non supported region? then they added it. Things can change. There is no need for this kind of dislike towards a certain group. Especially not to defend a company that you pay, that you are entitled to give feedbacks to. Thats a weird hill to die on. Now Im not saying this thread or the post you replied to are proper. Clearly not. But it does look bad for yourself, for calling a certain group frauds. Dont do it. You dont want to be called like that either.

I'm going to TLR this they aren't going to actively ban you but on the flip side, they aren't going to go out of their way to help you if you have problems paying for a sub due to being in an unsupported region.
I don't know where that comes from? just being cold and stating the EULA doesn't mean a person dislikes a certain group of people.

Mosha, it's better if we let OP starve for attention. It will eventually go away.
SE has already released an official statement acknowledging the issue. Anything that will be mentioned by OP in this thread will most likely be part of its conspiracy theories of how the game hates foreigners.
Why are you here? What do you want?
Oh god these people are so salty that SE finally addressed "our" issues.

Seems the op is continuing to go on about there conspiracy theory that the devs hate foreigners. Everyone that is using a debit card no matter what country there from are having the same issues it's not just the SEA community. The payment issues are annoying but square enix are aware and are looking into it name calling people and being nasty towards others isn't going to make the company go faster fixing it. The payment issues isn't only a SEA region issue people from south America NA and EU are having the same issues.

That is when the true Vana'diel of legend will be reborn.
The web devs are just completely incompetent. Almost nothing about the storefront or the mogstation is integrated or works with any standard, common pattern. They leave console.log commands in their live code logging keypresses, it takes them weeks to track down an issue even when someone who actually is a web developer provided them with screenshots and details from the console of exactly what is happening and when it happens (and a theory as to why it might be happening).
They just aren't good at this and they refuse to hire folks that are. It's one of the things I think makes some Japanese companies weaker - reluctance to look outside for talent. There's been huge strides in web development and SE is taking advantage of exactly none of them.
So, it's not discrimination, they simply aren't good at this. Friend, I feel for you. I hope they get it sorted at some point for you, but I assure you their incompetence is in no way deliberate. This just isn't their wheelhouse.
