I think you're making assumptions about my opinion: My opinion that I've already stated is that I am surprised people have such a nostalgia for what I consider to be inferior polygonal techniques over actually rounded (or at least more convincingly so) character designs. Subjectively I think the weird polygonal soup, the painted on catchlights, and the glossy lip textures look far inferior to the 7.0 models, and I am surprised to see so many people voice such strong opposition to their departure.

I'm not advocating for "realism", but I do prefer the higher polygon count on the new face models.

I think it's perfectly valid that people are upset over alterations to a character they've grown accustomed too for the past decade, but at the same time & for whatever it's worth, the vast majority of screenshots I've seen in this thread look *far* better in 7.0 than they do in 6.0

It's not nostalgia if it's literally right now.

Would you prefer I call it a preference? I don't think it disrupts my point overmuch to change the word for you.

My purpose with using the word nostalgia was to compliment my original point; which is that the vocal group in this topic have been looking at these old models for such a long period of time that they have grown a preference for them despite being objectively outdated compared to the newer models which feature a higher polygon count and a more convincing presentation of intended geometry.

I mean if you're so insistent that you're right and everyone else is seeing things through a skewed and biased lens, then I recommend you use the right words, lest people misunderstand the point you've so eloquently crafted.

...Of course I am right that my opinion is that I prefer to the newer models to the 6.0 models? How exactly would I be wrong about my opinion?

My point is that I am surprised people prefer the older model, not that they are wrong for doing so.

I suspect you're in an emotional state, which is causing you to invent confrontation. I'll leave you to it.

Are you actually resorting to the "oh you're mad lol lmao" as soon as someone directly addresses the way you're talking down to people? That didn't take long. If your facade all falls apart at the slightest scrutiny, then I guess you didn't have much of a point to begin with. "Emotional state". Give me a break.

But sure, if your opinion is right that you like it, then other people's opinions can be right that they don't like it. You can't have one without the other. People disagreeing with you doesn't make them wrong. I prefer the old model for my character because the new one changes the shape and positions of most features, giving it the appearance of being just slightly off. Like if you walked into your house and all your furniture was moved a couple inches. It's fair to not like that. They're right to be upset. If you think that's not valid because it's not way you believe, that's a you problem. Time to grow up.

I'm not "resorting" to anything or trying to get a meaningless internet "win" in here; I think my sense of humor and commentary is upsetting to you, so I'd rather not keep engaging with you if its' just going to piss you off. As you said, people have a right to be upset, or as I said "an emotional state". I don't disagree with you, but I'm going to leave you be now.

There are some improvements with the new characters, I'm not denying that.

"Players have been playing for 10 years, so they want to prioritize and take care to avoid situations where people don’t feel their character looks theirs."

But when they supposedly aimed to try to keep things as close to being our characters, they didn't really flawlessly succeed there, and thus the feedback players are giving on the forums and other platforms now.

Take Au Ra scales for example - sure they aren't as blurry anymore in the benchmark, but at the same time they became extremely jagged and changed overall shape, size and position.
