It's like standing in line to get slapped in the face only to get slapped, stand up and then go back in the same line and complain about it.
I think this is a majorly flawed argument. Players do not have the ability to make any changes to the game, that is solely within the developer's rights. The developers are meant to receive and incorporate feedback into their design, they shouldn't be simply looking at engagement metrics and taking that as truth, not everyone who engages in something enjoys it to the fullest, and assuming such is incredibly foolish.

Regardless, a boycott only works if the vast majority agrees with the reason for the boycott, but none of us on the forums are the majority, not the pro-dps options side, not the anti-dps options side, the truth is that the vast majority don't care either way. You can log in tomorrow and see all healers now only have 2 buttons, 'Do a heal' and 'Throw a rock', people will still play the role as long as it's flashy and sparkly. In the same vein, you can log in tomorrow and see that SGE is now extremely complex and you have to individually micro all 4 nouliths separately to play the job, you will still see Diagnosis bots in your expert roulette.

Point being, saying "It's your fault for still playing if you want change" is as flawed as saying "Don't buy from the cash shop if you don't like it", neither helps unless you can get the vast majority to care one way or another.

Also, it is well within our rights as consumers to give our feedback, whether or not we still engage with the product.
