    I've been doing this thing where I take job XYZ and systematically queue for, in order, every single dungeon, trial, and raid, just so that I know that I've done them all at least once on that job. (To be clear, only the trials and raids that are typically done through Duty Finder on NA/Crystal.)

    At the moment, I'm in the middle of post-ARR on WHM, and I have to say: It's actually kinda fun. It's actually keeping me engaged. Nevermind the fact that WHM's Lv.50 kit is... well, WHM's Lv.50 kit. None of the tanks are self-sustaining and immortal. The trash and environment tack on debuffs that actually hurt. There are janky dungeon-specific mechanics that no one remembers.

    I feel like I'm a better, more awake, more in-tune healer in this content than I am in, say, any Lv.90 trial or raid.

    So, to bring this back to healer "rotations": The game needs to do something to keep me awake. If you think I'm a bad healer in Lv.90 content because I keep DPS'ing... It's because I fell asleep pressing 111111112111111. It's because I assumed, "who's actually gonna fail this mechanic and take damage?"

    It's true that a lot of people just go into discussions with second-hand information, but that's not the problem, the problem is that they'll swear by that second-hand information and refuse to budge even when someone who has more experience in the matter is correcting them.

    I remember people scoffing when I said that thr BLM rotation is very simple at its core, yet anyone who plays BLM extensively would agree.

    Shoutout to Misery, what a bizarre mechanic

    But one of the great examples, and something that I've actually mentioned with the whole 'shield checks' idea (if every healer has a shield method, eg WHM gets Stoneskin, AST gets an equivalent shielding move, then we can have 'shield checks' like Photon from A11S or Vulcan Burst from UWU more often), is in level 50 content: Sastasha Hard. The Crab guy (is it named Cray Claw like the FF5 boss? I don't remember), the one with Tail Screw, he whacks a DOT on you, then Tail Screws you to single digit HP. You as a healer have options on what to do to deal with that. As a WHM for example, you could time a heal to heal the player who is at low HP before the DOT kills them, Esuna the DOT, or shield the player with Stoneskin so that the DOT doesn't hit their 'real HP'. More mechanics like that, where the healer is given several ways to counter the mechanic and they have agency on 'how' to deal with the mechanic, would be appreciated

    Karlabos is my favorite boss in the game not just because he enables shield tricks, but because he enables everyone to interact with him and break his combo. Plus he tries very hard to kill you instead of the floor, and I appreciate that.

    Healers can cleanse the slime DoT, and then Tail Screw can't set you up to die.
    Tanks and melee can stun him during Tail Screw, and then the slime DoT can't finish you.
    And in the case of total tank and healer incompetence, anyone can time a potion or Second Wind to land right after Tail Screw hits, before the DoT ticks, to buy yourself time.

    Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.
