    It also doesn’t help that this was a problem entirely of their own making when they made the range of ogcd heals larger because they decided to make the hit boxes of the bosses huge now. The only time where the hit boxes are small now are Criterion Dungeons.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    I would still take it over today’s Galaxy Star.

    The point is, it used to be satisfying to:
    • You know where the boss will move when you need to drop your Earthly Star? You drop it there.
    • You know where the party will move to when resolving X mech? You drop it there.
    • You’re going to miss a use but nothing to heal? Okay free damage but let’s just drop it for the tank.
    The list goes on. Can you just <t> macro the star back then? Of course. You won’t get the freedom of executing those listed situations if that’s what you’re solely depending on. It’s not optimal. But still viable.

    Today? One really has to consciously try to dodge the star if they don’t want to get its heal for whatever reason.

    On some arenas the only way to dodge a centered star is to run into the death wall. Great ability if you are a professional surveyor though.

    It's good that he acknowledges the sentiment, it's still up in the air how much they'll actually act on it. For all we know, he had that realization 10 hours before the interview, and DT's design/'stress-free levels' are locked in as being EW2 level

    Need the media tour info to see what, if anything, has been adjusted with this in mind

    Something I've been saying for literally years is that we need to modernize and update the UI for debuffs that can be Esuna'd. A teeny-weeny little white bar above the already microscopic buff/debuff icons doesn't cut it. Something like how FFXII's debuffs have an overlay atop the afflicted party member's HP that flickers, cycling through all debuffs currently on the target for example. The only debuffs that appear this way are ones that can be cleansed with Esuna. You can even add other visual indicators that XII has like applying a color filter to the afflicted character (purple for poison, black for blind, etc.) and having the icon appear above their head.

    If we communicate debuffs to the player far more clearly, that gives us a lot more leeway into making debuffs matter more. Bard would certainly appreciate Warden's Paean being a regularly utilized piece of utility.

    Sage has failed to live up to the fantasy of a sci-fi DPS healer. Please change this for 8.0. Make Sage fast, exciting, and aggressive. It should feel like a healer that plays like a DPS. Empower the aspects of Sage's unique healing mechanics: Kardia and Eukrasia to give its healing playstyle more identity.
