I'm with you.
I did see 1 person in a housing ward a few days ago. They were AFK.
Do you think that's the neighborhood feel people are talking about? That MMO experience?
Or- If the MMO experience isn't related to housing, then why should it matter if we want to have a house instance all to ourself?
There are apartments, but they give very limited range- are as limited in customizing, just way less than houses already- and have the same empty/ ghost town feel as house wards.
Or is the neighborhood feel the part where FCs give gil to players who copy+paste nsfw prompts and have players pay them for erp? I'm not holding judgement over anyone for how they do things, but when people say neighborhood feel, I've yet to see anyone give examples of what they mean.
Or do they mean the neighborhood feel of being forced to look at other players ugly creations?
Want a nice view for your house? sorry, there's a giant eyesore owned by someone who is obsessed with hot pink and hingan houses. And better yet, their plot is always empty - inside and out and noone is ever home to say hello.
Folks can suggest "Well, dont own a home in ffxiv!" So, we're not actually going to address the issue?
Just dance around the fact the only reason the housing isn't changing anytime soon is because of subscriptions?
While The dev team could actually tie in subscriptions to owning instanced homes without ever giving them better features, but imo if the basis of our activity to own a home is also one of the links to an active subscription; I believe there should be more emphasis on improving the housing wards and housing features. Yoshi-P has said adding more house features will be looked into - but no other mentioning of it. Back when stormblood was new, he brought up the possibility of giving apartments size upgrades.
