The truth is that people don't utilize shout chat other than to use it for ads or banter, so you're really not missing out on anything at all gameplay wise lol. The truth is if you want gameplay, you're going to utilize the dozen and more discords suited for it, not shout chat in the cities.
You couldn't be more wrong. If you ever been to uldah on balmung. That's those folks gameplay experience is that chat and they utilize all 3 chat types plus party and pm.

The ads there...oh the public backlash they get from it because they are trying to enjoy their gameplay experience. If yours is content then cool but you are missing out on the rest of it.

Venues before 2020 weren't as wide spread but with the covid coming. It literally blew up in game. Venues were the one thing keeping people sane so it became a part of their gameplay experience.

The rp community is much bigger then you think.

So to summarize. While YOUR gameplay experience might be content. Don't mean that's another players experience. They enjoy it differently and as this is a ONLINE GAME.

As it's an ONLINE GAME that means there's also online chat which is part of the gameplay experience. So if you in the middle of talking with friends who hang out say in limsa and a few walls of text happen to appear then your gameplay experience IS being disrupted.

Would be like if someone went into a content run you enjoyed and purposely wiped the group over and over. That's also disruption. Just in another are of the gameplay experience.

Final point. I seen you mention discord. There's alot who don't actually use it. There's also alot that will find that step to be a pain and venues do utilize discords but don't mean the tens of thousands of players will see it. So that argument is out the window.
