RP shout ads are obstructive to chat and gameplay

My personal take: the /shout and pf ads are a nuisance. Whether you think venues are appropriate, or what people's rights are, or whatever morals or opinions one may have on the issue, or speculation on what SE will or won't do doesn't change the fact that it's very annoying to see your chat spammed with ads in populated cities and duplicated in party finder. They're too numerous, they shouldn't be encouraged. I like a clean chat. So I, for one, hope there's a way to eliminate or contain them, or reduce them. Maybe have a few designated family-friendly servers? Where there's stricter moderation? I don't really know. But it's worth exploring whatever possibilities might exist that keep the ads in check.

tbh the ads for the most part are not overly explicit. What people see usually is 18+. If an ad crosses that line I believe it's fine to report as many stated they already do. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of a chat specifically for advertisements either, but shout chat in general would then need to be heavily moderated to make sure nothing slips through the crack which I do not see SE doing.

But why would anyone want to waste their time using shout chat if they have a better option that reaches further with less effort? Surely if se announced a new means for people to advertise their social activities , they would also advise people about not using shout, the community would advise people about it as well, like they have in various other situations. Just like moving things to the other tab in pf, that went smooth as. And the venue people would all be happy they don't need to work as hard to advertise, so I doubt they'd push their luck by abusing all channels, they don't push their luck in pf
