    It's not actually a word. The "ir-" prefix isn't making it a double negative, it just has literally no meaning when attached to "regardless." It's like saying "can you rerepeat what you just said?"

    It is a double negative, though. You're basically saying "not without regard," or more literally "not regardless" since the prefix means "not."

    But "rerepeat" would have a meaning...you say something once, you repeat it, and then you re-repeat it if you say it a third time...
