I will say, I'm pretty sure that's by far the worst prize set I've ever seen for a mog tome event.

Seems pretty on-par to me. An animal-themed accessory only a handful of players will care about and fewer will actually ever notice. A selection of extreme trial mounts, a particular set of armor, and a selection of TT cards, orchestrions, minions, and mounts of middling desirability.
Can anyone complaining about rewards actually point to any previous (non-anniversary) event that somehow was more impressive? Keeping in mind this is explicitly part 1 of 2 for this run, wherein more rewards will be released later. Are you all really that upset over not having ARR riding maps this time?
the pvp armor made me double take, that feels in poor taste.. granted maybe getting one piece will make people want the rest of the set and get CC and front line ques back to reasonable for a time..
cant they just invert the colors on one of the mounts for this to make it special? like give me a blue bomb throne to mach my BLU scepter or something thats very light dev time but high impact
(i say inverted colors for mounts and glam are always a big win for people in to glam, makes exclusivity so gets players logging on, and wanting to show it off, and its as simple as swapping 2 hex codes(i know stupidly oversimplified statement))

The rewards are pretty crap. But this is also a necessary evil to keep some content relevant. Won't have much game left to explore if we just slowly filter all the harder to get stuff into the Mog Tome event.
99.99% chance probably a Titanman alt
It's because the melee gear from that series was a fan design contest winner.
Putting the tops from all seven variations is exactly what they've been doing in previous treasure trove events with the other contest winners – Lost Allagan (tank), Bonewicca (caster), Skallic (healer) and Neo-Ishgardian (ranged). The in-game source of the items is irrelevant.
They definitely should have added one of the old pvp armors in a distinct and different color or something. These gear sets that you don't even see anymore because the few players that have them glamour something else or they might not even be playing right now.
Twilight over Thanalan orchestrion roll interest me since I do not want to spend gill and it is a chore with the maps.
I am not planning on renewing my sub so I hope the firsts weeks I get some actual Rival Wings matches and Light DC do not immediately die on that...
Honestly I just hope they won't put dungeons like Hullbreaker Isle for the tome because it was for some past tome and I hate that one so bad and actually most of the dungeons that have tomes on it erritate me some of em aren't bad but it's more the fact that I keep getting those in roulette over and over for a week while having no interest in the event that annoy me
Very good for relatively new players, but horrible for vets especially those that have most to all rewards already. Wouldnt mind if they tossed something new/decent at an extremely high mogtome price.
I'll have to agree with the TC. Just looking at the rewards this time around had me going "...eh?"
It's always possible that I was spoiled by the ridiculously good rewards in the 10th Anniversary tomestone hunt, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to get excited about this event when the stuff you can get from it is this underwhelming.

No reward is worth suffering through content you feel is bad. The worst thing the playerbase can do to itself is force-complete the content it hates. It leaves the false impression that despite complaints, players are generally satisfied with the content and it's okay to make more like it. If players stop working on the content even with rewards incomplete (like Pagos when it first came out), it will send a clear sign that changes need to be made.
