So much mental gymnastics trying to get the VA fired.

Seriously, everyone needs to give this a rest. SE has chosen the VA they want to use for the role. They aren't going to change things last minute (and this is last minute when it comes to the timeline for developing a major expansion).

If you don't like the VA's work, then switch to another language or mute Voice in System configuration.

What's the purpose of trying to shut down feedback?
You don't have to read it. If you're getting sick of it, don't enter a complaints thread. Simple as that.

...Once again I'm glad I just play with JP voices and have no idea what any of you are complaining about.

Like I'm all for criticism and complaining but you do realise that It's One voice actor, you can genuinely just mute voices or switch language if it ruins ff14 that much for you. I think ff14 has many issues but this of all things is being blasted? I don't know... sounds like theirs actually just some people complaining for the drama at this point, other motivations too.

At the end of the day if you don't like the VA that much maybe quitting will do you good who knows? Like seriously of all the issues the game has a single msq character's VA is suddenly a hot topic? not anything actually important to the gameplay or valid story concerns?

We all know that people aren't only "just complaining" as well, everyone knows this sort of topic will get heated for reasons surrounding it, hence why people are being defensive which they have a right to do so, people can also justify why they liked the acting just as much as people can say they dislike it, it's a feedback thread, or at least meant to be.

The point I was making wasn't to do with one comment, theirs multiple threads with comments that are blatant, tags and I'm trying to explain from the other point of view that hey it's not hard to be respectful when making feedback, I'm purposely not trying to engage with any of the outright "trolls" anyway, they aren't worth my time, I just wanted to point out why people are acting defensive and theirs actually likely some bias that these threads are getting from certain types of people, I was even pointing out that some people just like the characters voice and all which is valid, same as the normal people who didn't like the voice, but it doesn't excuse assuming that people only like the voice out of defence because a lot of people... Just like the acting it's pretty simple

I also think the Idea like that would help, I guess we'd still see posters upset that they had to switch language on one character (like it would be very jarring for me lol), I do think it's funny that some people will go to such lengths to avoid hearing one actor, but at the end of the day its another option so sure why not, more options is just good

Do we really need 3 topics about this? I saw this forum before i did the new story and was expecting something awful akin to the 2.0 quests..... She did great.. I really liked her voice actor and its hilarious to me that the forums is acting like she is awful. IT reads as a more nefarious motive.

To be fair, one of the threads was taken down for a couple hours yesterday. So that's why a second was made then.

I mean its pretty obvious why they keep reposting it, they think their tags are anonymous. It has nothing to do with the voice actor's skill, because she sounds fine. Even if you don't like her she is not some insane difference of everyone else. Even the go to VA have their moments of bad lines don't see them being called to be fired.

Spot on.
People forget that localization and the fact that one community gave Accents to random races in the game, doesn't have much to do with a VA performance.

Just to add, as someone who works in translation, it’s easy to translate words and nuance, but accents and “stereotypical” characters are really hard.

Take a Pixar movies like Cars. It’s really hard to convey the redneck accent or a yeehaw cowboy acccent whereas in English the accent alone conveys so much information. Even in star wars, characters like Yoda don’t have the wonky grammar like English…he just talked like stereotypical old man #4.
