The greatest MMORPG streamer of all time is going to play FFXIV again on Twitch

If he is or isn't playing XIV again. Why do XIV players wan't him to play so bad? He's a total asshole, and his community is filled with rabid bigots who have no problem harassing people on a whim if they feel like it. I doubt we want that type of nonsense attached to XIV in any compacity.

His streamer persona (agreed - a real jerk) is different from who he actually is (fairly intelligent and thoughtful individual).

I think a lot of people forget that successful streamers are really entertainers and so what you see "on screen" is rarely the same as the person behind the entertainer. Sure, it's questionable why someone would act that way as an entertainer in the first place but it becomes pretty obvious when you consider how many people end up following those types of streamers compared to streamers that are more mild in demeanor. Asmongold by himself is an excellent example. He's got a few different YouTube channels. The one where he drops the persona and talks "straight" about how he feels on whatever topic has only a fraction of the subscribers that his entertainment persona channels have.

Either way, I don't care whether or not he plays the game. That's up to him. If he does play, it would be nice for people to leave him alone.

Based on what? I don't normally watch him but I caught some his XIV streams at the time and he seemed to enjoy himself.

Beyond zone congestion the only "problems" I remember anyone causing were for him by following him and swarming him with mounts, not the player base at large.

I remember people causing those issues for Usada Pekora when she streamed playing FFXIV for the first time. Though she also goofed doing the stream and didn't hide her character name or world due to not doing research beforehand. To be fair the majority of the people causing the problems for her weren't doing it to be intentionally malicious. She's simply that popular in Japan and her fans just wanted to see her in game. Shirokami Fubuki also from Hololive has been doing FFXIV streams periodically for awhile.

What I do know is that Asmon reinstalled and resubbed to FFXIV because another streamer (Kaise? I'm not sure) invited Asmon to a night club venue, and Asmon took her up on the offer. It sounds like he had fun with it from the way he talked about it on stream. So yeah, he does have the game installed with an active subscription, but that's still no guarantee that he'll start playing MSQ again. Someone from Asmon's subreddit made the "STARTING SOON" picture probably in the hopes of influencing him to play again. It would be cool if he did, but I wouldn't bank on it. He's still having fun with Monster Hunter World, and there's still plenty of things left for him to do in that game.






Also man, how many people control the Weeb police department? There's no way you're running all those accounts by yourself. Sarg Limsa is under occupation right now, lmao.

People need to get off their high horse thinking that FFXIV is not already a toxic MMO. Nothing would change if there was another influx of players from WoW/Asmon stream. Join any high-end PF or FFXIV Discord server that isn't the well-moderated main one and you'll see what I mean.

More players is good and I enjoyed watching him do trials/raids sync'd.
