If he is or isn't playing XIV again. Why do XIV players wan't him to play so bad? He's a total asshole, and his community is filled with rabid bigots who have no problem harassing people on a whim if they feel like it. I doubt we want that type of nonsense attached to XIV in any compacity.

I mean, sounds like they'd fit right in to XIV though, with all the constant nonsense that goes on inside the community (stalking, doxxing, intolerance, tribalism). I'm sure they'll find themselves right at home, I guess. It's certainly not rainbows over here.

Og I totally agree, but, this requires the rest of the vocal minority to admit we have an actual issues with to begin with. I'm hoping I can at times appeal to what little common sense there is when it comes to very obviously problematic people like Asmongold.

One of the good things about XIV is that it doesn't have a strong culture of e-famous grifters, influencers and content creators becoming the center of the attention. Very few manage to keep up a strong following while actively doing XIV content on youtube, twitch or elsewhere. Generally the '' biggest '' content creators are creative ones (art, cosplay, humor, music).

And personally, I prefer it that way. Asmon can do whatever he wants obviously, but I'm not eagerly awaiting his potential return by any means. It's just going to cause a lot of unnecessary commotion and more grifting. They come in, pretend to enjoy it if it's profitable, and then leave and shit on it when it's profitable, as per most people dipping their toes into MSQ vampire pockets.

And before anyone says '' the game isn't perfect and criticism is valid '' well obviously, but I don't take criticism from grifters seriously. Sorry about it I guess.

So I feel like I'm missing context here because I don't know why we would enjoy to have Asmongold back. Were his streams on FFXIV interesting? At most when he came to play FFXIV it was to ride the hate on Blizzard games and I never heard it sparking anything interesting.

I often see him and his opinions kind of wrong and aggressive and antiquated. Not to mention that him leaving mid-way and not even getting to Endwalker after all the hype made it feel performative, like yeah I stuck it to Blizzard haha and then just effed off.
