His streamer persona (agreed - a real jerk) is different from who he actually is (fairly intelligent and thoughtful individual).
I think a lot of people forget that successful streamers are really entertainers and so what you see "on screen" is rarely the same as the person behind the entertainer. Sure, it's questionable why someone would act that way as an entertainer in the first place but it becomes pretty obvious when you consider how many people end up following those types of streamers compared to streamers that are more mild in demeanor. Asmongold by himself is an excellent example. He's got a few different YouTube channels. The one where he drops the persona and talks "straight" about how he feels on whatever topic has only a fraction of the subscribers that his entertainment persona channels have.
Either way, I don't care whether or not he plays the game. That's up to him. If he does play, it would be nice for people to leave him alone.
