How much time do you spend standing in your yard by yourself looking at the placard that you would even notice it happening? You're definitely not going to see it happening if you are inside of your house.

You're also greatly exaggerating how often it would happen considering those owning the instanced version of your plot would still be spread across 60 wards/subdivisions. You're not going to see every player on your world picking the same plot not to mention most of the time players aren't even in the wards. They'll be out playing the rest of the game.

Keep in mind this isn't how I would want instanced housing to be set up. I want instanced housing to take us out of the wards and give us options throughout the game world, just as RIFT did with Dimensions. But since this thread is about the OP's suggestion, I was mentioning ways that it might work out.
