Oh god it's male highlander all over again.i figured out what my issue was with the faces ! ( besides the short muzzle i posted about before, but i've gotten used to it over the day )
for me, i think it's a lack of eyebrow, or eyebrow like detail. Male hroth have a pretty distinct and heavy 'eyebrow line' on their head, and a few faces have little eyebrow dots or markings that can help.
i think the eyebrows add a bit more to expressions. i did some edits, they are pretty extreme, just to show the distinction of what i mean.
i 100% would want this as a toggle feature, maybe a racial feature. it's likely something they may have already implemented on a couple faces but i think it's good to note down anyway
heres some edits i did with the trailer hroths

Male Hrothgar didn't have eyebrows at launch
and they only gave one face eyebrows when they changed hair to work on hrothgar
Still, males got a very pronounced brow-bone which gives the impression of eyebrows. Something female clearly lacks which gives us a kinda creepy vibe from them.
so i actually wanted to double check this bc my boyfriend plays hrothgar and has since ShB launch and i 100% remembered him having the little eyebrows im talking about
i know they did add more 'traditional eyebrows' to a couple faces more recently, but i'm talking specifically about these two faces with their "these could be considered eyebrows" markings. my BF turned the stripes ( the ones from image 2 ) off and his hroth looks less expressive to me without them.
here's some pictures from the benchmark, i dug it up in my files !
( no malice meant by my reply ! just wanted to clarify what i meant by 'eyebrows'. i mean closer to 'eye dots' like some dog/cat breeds have haha )

And blood elf female weapon sizes... One of the few races/sex combos without ridiculous weapon size aaaaaand daggers became swords in Legion.
Now that I'm more awake and aware, I'd like to add a update of opinion
I think we need more information on the nose/jaw choices we'll get for female hrothgar. 2 of the 4 males have more prominent/subtle chins(face 2,4 respectively) and a few of the jaw choices can push the lower chin in some. However, only male face 4 seems to have the only crimson chin that nearly borders beyond the upper muzzle lol. So, maybe we should get jaw/nose options, for females, that let us give a more definite muzzle even if by a smidgen of polygons. And so I’m okay if needing to give up “enlarging” their heads if it makes pulling out their face a bit, shrink the lower chin in, widen their mouth, while still differentiating the faces, to be more feasible. As I said, one of them looks the best out of the three for being a decent blend.

^I think I was right on minimizing the idea/critique of increasing head size. Because it seems like poor camera work(low, tilt up angles) gives the illusion/exaggeration of that. This rendered silhouette of one of them seems alright in the head=body ratio, concept art of the cropped female is peak perfect though. The hair is helping a lot, similar to male hrothgars, bald heads will obviously look pretty small. But males do have the benefit of a thicker neck. And I'm not sure if giving them a vaguely similar one is in the cards, given how much frakensteining of midlander skeletons/mesh that females races have with each other. My problem might just be with this specific face. In certain lighting/angles, especially the showcase, she looks less like a feline and more like a bear cub with reduced z depth and x width on the nose on the mouth when she's looking head on.

^I think the design philosophy of having different faces leaning towards more flatter/human, or fuller/animal faces is reasonable. I just think there should be 50/50 or a majority on the latter side. The left and center females are a step in the right direction, though the middle one I think can use a wider and more prominent muzzle while the left can have a smidge longer.
I am kind of concerned for no visual confirmation of fur marks, crossing fingers they'll be in benchmark. A hrothgal with tiger stripes would look slick n sick

They were way above my expectations, so don't really have anything to complain about. All I want is just hats for Viera and Hrothgar now.
Their heads are too small. It makes them look goofy. I hope they fix this as they look amazing in the concept art with the correct head to body proportions.
THEY ARENT EVEN OUT YET
