Does it matter? Are you actually going to try to defend Blizzard? The company is a repulsive cesspool. I guess you missed all the big reveals over the last couple years. Pushing an employee to suicide, drinking employee breast milk, cube crawling etc. Lots of acts of perversion that the highest levels of the company were aware of but ignored. Disgusting company. You realize the post was asking for updated features like WoW has being implemented similarly into FF14, and not the workplace practices of Blizzard being put into effect at Squareenix, right?

Some people on this forum have a hatred for the game that borders on religious zealotry.
XIV is god, the light and the truth and all that jazz, while WoW is the devil that will consume your soul. Hating it makes you righteous.

WoW could turn into the best MMO you've ever played tomorrow, fulfilling every wish you ever had and every niche for every player, and these people would still yell at you that you're going to hell for playing it.

Not likely sadly. They've been here since 2013 it seems? Unless this is like a recent mood shift or something, I haven't been on the forums for long. All I know is they're always trying to shut down any and all discussion by telling people that the game is perfect. You could have the tiniest criticism, and they'd tell you it's not valid.

Nice attitude. Do you have a similar attitude toward the other companies I mentioned? Will you look at the new MMORPG announced by Riot games, knowing they paid a 10 million dollar fine in California for similar practices? Do you have similar feelings of disgust for the company that owned Call of Duty? [Hint: Activision owned both properties. The "highest levels of the company" was Activision.]

Similar practices appear rampant across the entire gaming industry. Will you stop playing games?

Hatred is such a temporary solution. Changes in management is much better for everyone. And look -- Activision was sold off to another company. Admittedly one that has issues (remember: entire gaming industry), but one that may do better.

No one sane defends Blizzard. If Blizzard says "Yeah, the sky is blue." I'm not going to take an opposing position just to SPITE them. I already am never going to buy another Blizzard product. Obviously, Blizzard is bad, you don't need overdramatic, pointless rhetoric to get that point across, it's right there in the court documentation and their litany of disappointments.

But I'm not gonna plug my ears to objective improvements that are implemented in the general field because, and this may be a shock, bad companies can have good ideas. Good things, regardless of where they are from, should be shared, so standards across the industry are raised. This is a topic about features in a product, not about public relations and human debasement. Rising tide, all boats. To think otherwise, is petty. Software is not a disease or virus. If you mix concepts and take inspirations, it doesn't automatically infect development staff and ruin the entire product.

If I boycott Nestle, do I have to stop drinking water? If I find the practices of Ford immoral, do I have to scrap my own car? If I hate the crunch that developers and artists go through in this corporate nightmare, do I stop enjoying all video games and art? No. You'd cut off your own nose to spite your face.

Blizzard has to make things account wide because players need to make alts in order to play more than one class. That isn't necessary here.

SE has been chipping away at cross world/data access. They've acknowledged that cross data center PF and Duty Finder are needed but their technology currently doesn't support them but they'll continue to make efforts to find a solution. Data center travel at least helps with some of the problems in the meantime.

Let WoW be WoW. Let FFXIV be FFXIV. If you think WoW is offering you a better game than FFXIV, then you probably should be playing that.

That was the past. Most if not all of those complicit are no longer working for Blizzard, new management has come in and made changes that will hopefully prevent those things from happening again.

Punishing people for the sins committed by others in the past is a poor way to promote change for the better. If you're just going to keep punishing them, there is no reason to change.

If you choose not to do business with Blizzard, do it because you don't enjoy the products they make and not because of what some former employees did years ago.
