I enjoy the pvp too. I don't really do much else in the game these days outside story content when it drops. I have been playing since launch though and don't have a lot I want to "work on". You could just try to do a bit of story whenever you login if it is boring for you. I do suggest reading/watching if you intend to though as doing things with no context is extremely boring. The story is good but a lot to get through. Take your time with it.

I myself started playing FF XIV in 2022. Just now finishing up the post-Endwalker MSQ but have done lots of side content on the way. I've had tons of fun but I don't think I could handle starting the MSQ all over again.

My suggestion, though, is to keep on truckin' now that you've started over. If you get bored, take a break.
