Disagree with the "all they are". Relics are solid weapons for most content, so people that don't do Savage raids (or aren't lucky with Extreme drops) use Relic weapons as their main weapons a lot. The 5-10 ilevels is pretty negligible for most content, especially if someone's only doing up to Extremes or not even doing Extremes.

I do agree they should return more to what they used to be. If SE thinks that there needs to be easier to get weapons for trading in tomestones, they could just remove the 7 (patch later 4) 4th Normal Raid boss token requirement on the tome weapons. Note I'm not suggesting they DO this, but saying if that's somehow some major concern, they could just address it that way instead of making Relics a flat "prior tier tome" grind.

Where did I say they were? I didn't make that argument.

Crafted weapons are expensive and often not worth it to people for various reasons, Extremes are matters of luck, and Tome weapons take 7 weeks of grinding.

Relics are way better. I do them for the weapon, not merely for glamour. Not everyone does Savage content, and if you don't luck out on an Extreme, the difference between a Relic and Crafted weapon is no more than 5 ilevels, or between a Relic and Extreme is 10. Pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things if you aren't doing week 1 stuff. And the Relics are better for Ultimates anyway, so...kind of a wash.
