You know what else these virtual clubs seem to be drowning out, at least ime?
Actual Roleplay venues. Where the idea behind the whole event is less 'we all to introverted to leave the house. So virtual club with twitch dj' and more 'limsa pub with Maelstrom personel, merchants, privateers and adventurers telling tall tales to each other over drinks'.
Not sure if giving a new tab in pf for Roleplay would help in anyway with that, but if they added Something like it it would at least help everyone else that's currently supposed to use the Catch all other Tab.
I'm personally not against having one and don't think there would be any harm in having an RP dedicated tab. That said, I don't really see them adding it.
When people initially complained about RP stuff (mostly venues) being posted in duty specific tabs (which is fair), "Other" was specifically the section people were told to use by SE (and the tab was also barely used for anything other than RP both then and now).
They didn't deem it necessary to add a separate one. If they thought there to be any need for a RP specific tab, they would've added it back then. It wasn't even that long ago (about 1.5 years?), so I'm unsure they'd change their mind on the matter.

These forums are largely populated by members of EU as well as the NA servers themselves. A good chunk of Balmung alone has a large EU population. The labels NA and EU are basically meaningless anymore. We're comrades regardless of where you belong.

Huh?Turn shouts off
And then they make more content. Is that a bad thing? It's what we had in Shadowbringers, when people were hailing FFXIV as "the best MMO". But apparently that's not good enough anymore. You want us to fall in love with this grotesque, bastardized version of FFXIV in North America that every other region and 2/3rds of players find bizarre. So what's your solution then ? We ban all the venues and drive these people away, and then what ? Then the game only has the raiders/crafters left that eventually end up quitting or taking break for multiple months since there's barely any content in the game ? And then what ?
And I did notice your player region, by the way. This is, from what I understand, worse in the North American data centers. The spam here has become a core part of the FFXIV experience. I'm not sure why you're pushing this onto us when EU doesn't have to deal with this to the same extent.
Ad hom. But that's to be expected since FFXIV is having a rough time right now.

It's actually still pretty bad, which is why I struggle to imagine what some of the NA servers must be like. And it's worth noting the RP community it likes to latch onto was practically invisible prior to this and very rarely featured in PF or shout outside of occasional seasonal events, to the point I was surprised to find out it even existed - I always assumed everyone immediately went to Balmung et al. for that sort of thing. The fact that it has grown so rampant even over here speaks to the sheer prevalence of the current "venue" scene, really. And I did notice your player region, by the way. It had always been a mission of the role play community to grow and expand role play to various other servers. It wasn't until world visit and later DC visit that those goals started to actually happen. Until that point, the role players mostly went to Balmung and for a bit Mateus because finding RP elsewhere was difficult. It's actually still pretty bad, which is why I struggle to imagine what some of the NA servers must be like. Word Vomit Sorry 1 out of 2:
I feel like people are missing the point of why I started the thread to begin with. As so many people have proposed, I've done what I can do as a player without hindering my ability or making it annoying to cycle tabs in regards to shout chat by blacklisting repeat shouters I noticed. If I see people spamming events I blacklist them. I hate blacklisting people, even people who I really should have kept on the blacklist I rather not limit myself interaction from other people nor do I want to condemn other players into a "You can't play with me cause of something minor/major you may have done to me, purposely or unaware off." For someone who doesn't want to DC travel I hate the thought that I'm potentially removing players that may/currently be doing pve/pvp pf content but they can no longer join me due to a blaclist from them adding to the spam in pf when they afk.
A lot of people have been talking at least from what I've seen as the next big step being Cross DC pf which honestly I don't see being too far away ( most likely 7.3 ish if lucky). Peak hours on primal there are usually 70+ pfs up in the other section. Prior to the big covid surge of DJ's the other section while having role play also had people asking for help, crafting, support, goofy as events (I remember there was a pf where people were trying to get a bunch of lvl 80 BTN to kill a tress S trank) and as mentioned prior, while I don't like to roleplay I do like to at least check the places out, see what people do and maybe even give it a crack if I feel condient enough. Now whenever I look at the others tab all of these party finders blend together with just DJ, Gamble, 18+, BAR. Personally it doesn't make me want to even give role play a shot now since I partially see all that content as the same annoying spam afk place.
So again, this was just a suggestion considering that SE also just recently added gold saucer content.

1. By adding a role play category or heck even just "DJ/Community Event tab" it will give them a place to advertise. It would then give the people doing roleplay(such as before covid) to then get more attention in the other section without having to resort to the same pf spam.
2. I see the "just remove the shout chat" so often but feel like that's just as narrowminded as what does commenters think of my request. What if I use shout chat for content as well? Why must I make an adjust to having a bad player experience? Perhaps they could do something like novice network and have a seperate tab all together where you get a timer to advertise your place. It would pop up just as standard novice network chat and you can invite players to it, while giving players also the option to reject all of future invites. While this would have it's own problem
3. Fellowships. Kinda acts like some wall of advertisement. Most of these places use the website carrds or something anyways so you could leave a brief description or just your twitch link and have people come to you since honestly I haven't seen fellowship used outside of some questionable things.
As said before. Not out to take bars/dj/afk places away from people. Not here to cause a witchhunt as well but looking to see what could be a happy medium for both parties. Most people here seem to agree that the spam is annoying to some extend, some more than others.
