How to completely dismiss a problem by pretending leaving people alone makes it not a problem without solving or addressing literally anything. Solution fixed guys! JUST DONT CARE! -Stormpeak's advice on everything. And yet none of these "issues" have any impact on you whatsoever.
Crazy isnt it ?
Turn shouts off, it's that simple. If they could only advertise only one time per hour, i'd be useless to even advertise because you wouldnt have much advertising power, and on a very tiny amount of people.
Yes, turning shouts off IS a solution, and it has no big impact at all, it literally doesnt matter.
You mean they went where they were literally told to advertise in ? So what's the problem ? That's where they should be, in the other category, if they are under dungeon or raids etc, report them.
You are choosing to make it your problem.
99.99% chance probably a Titanman alt
So what's your solution then ? We ban all the venues and drive these people away, and then what ? Then the game only has the raiders/crafters left that eventually end up quitting or taking break for multiple months since there's barely any content in the game ? And then what ?

For someone that hates this stuff so much, you know a LOT about it all. Is this some weird in the closet moment but with venues?Where's the Twitch stream? The Mare syncshell? The horrendous 10' 300-lbs (all chest) modbeasts playing as a brand new race and with a full-body tattoo? The club's Discord voice chat where everyone's playing other games, such as Star Wars Galaxy, as opposed to FFXIV? I suppose installing an entire framework for add-ons, sex mods, IoT integration (don't ask), and playing your obligatory Other Game while not even touching FFXIV are quintessential aspects of Final Fantasy XIV?
Oh wait, those are "optional", right? We don't need those. So how do you enjoy standing in a quiet room with everyone wearing the exact same Level 1 outfit and doing the exact same /beesknees dance--while never saying a word for hours? You like the feeling of total silence? Little red AFK chairs too? How is that comparable to a "social" MMO at all?
And if you don't know what I'm referring to, then you have no authority on the subject matter. This isn't about what you think it is.
Ngl I don't go to venues and know about all that since it's publicly talked about in spaces like NN. Can also stumble on videos of people recording themselves dancing at clubs on YT while just searching through ff content.
It's not like some big secret lol, we literally have people put up billboards about it.
You guys have some weird NN chats is all I can say tbh.
Huh?Turn shouts off
And then they make more content. Is that a bad thing? It's what we had in Shadowbringers, when people were hailing FFXIV as "the best MMO". But apparently that's not good enough anymore. You want us to fall in love with this grotesque, bastardized version of FFXIV in North America that every other region and 2/3rds of players find bizarre. So what's your solution then ? And I did notice your player region, by the way. This is, from what I understand, worse in the North American data centers. The spam here has become a core part of the FFXIV experience. I'm not sure why you're pushing this onto us when EU doesn't have to deal with this to the same extent.
Ad hom. But that's to be expected since FFXIV is having a rough time right now.
Ever browse this in primetime?

It's actually still pretty bad, which is why I struggle to imagine what some of the NA servers must be like. And it's worth noting the RP community it likes to latch onto was practically invisible prior to this and very rarely featured in PF or shout outside of occasional seasonal events, to the point I was surprised to find out it even existed - I always assumed everyone immediately went to Balmung et al. for that sort of thing. The fact that it has grown so rampant even over here speaks to the sheer prevalence of the current "venue" scene, really. And I did notice your player region, by the way. That's a uh... big leap in logic. lol Innocent until proven guilty and all that.Just harmless fun, right? It's definitely totally okay for people to cyber openly, and laws against gambling in Japan and most of Europe in no way influenced SE"s decision to make the activity against TOS. I'm sure none of these things happen in those venues despite half the advertisements either strongly alluding to them or stating it outright.
To be honest, I feel like people tend to have disproportionate reactions to these things. Sure, it can be annoying if a page of the PF is a flooded ad for a single event, but I don't feel it's that big of a deal and I don't even engage with venues. A shout ad for a venue/event/fc or whatever is pretty whatever, but people do immediately tend to angrily rag on it, which... I mean, I just think it's... kind of childish when you can just move past it immediately. It' not like someone actually shouting things at you IRL or something. It's really easy to ignore, to be honest (I do it all the time).
I can understand minor annoyance in instances of actual spam and actual flooding of the PF for (1) event, but, I mean... it's all harmless stuff that's just people having some form of fun and looking for others to participate and it's... extremely easy to scroll past. If it's spam/flooding I feel like there's probably a rule about that? (and if not, I'd agree a rule about that would be beneficial in general).
I do think if it genuinely pisses you off or something that's much more a "you" issue. But, a lot of people are particularly (weirdly IMO) hostile towards the club venue stuff, or the DJ stuff and I... I'm kind of at a loss for why? Aside from minor/petty annoyance stuff... I don't get it. Like, I feel the issue would more be around flooding a page in PF (with -any- kind of advertisement) and not... uh, club venues and DJ's or whatever the specific popular-thing-you're-not-into is.
So... yeah, I'm for preventing flooding for 1 event or whatever it may be. But if an "other" tab is populated with a plethora of unique events (venues/dj stuff, whatever) I don't care - that's literally what the tab is for and I think they should be allowed to advertise their thing, and I don't think we'd need a New Tab for it, really. (Before the plethora of em, the Other tab was kinda dead with like a few people in it looking for... a crafter or something, usually? Or like, people... advertising for a chat buddy or something).
(Oh, I will add for people who say like "Public ERP" or whatever is the reason -- that is already against the rules? Just report it if you run into it?)
It's almost as if people forgot this was all in the dungeons tab before. Square made it against TOS and told them to post it in others instead.
They are legit doing what they were told to do.
