I'm mostly trying to ween out the shell fcs that are taking up 4 or 5 houses on a server.

If that's the goal, there is a better solution. Detach workshops and gardening from houses and give them another access point.

So you wish to punish people like me who are truckers where we are not home for weeks at a time? What about players who serve in the military, do they get to be punished too because you have a narrow and small minded world view that punishes players for not being able to play daily like you do??????????

Those who serve in the military are already at a disadvantage because deployments frequently are at least 2 months long or longer. They'd only be able to keep their house with the help of a spouse/partner/friend logging onto their account to reset their demo timer.

Granted I don't know many truckers but the ones I do are set up with wi-fi so even if they're on the road for a couple of weeks, they frequently overnight in areas with wi-fi service so they can get online to play games with their friends/family. Nothing about his system would require someone to log in daily though it's still an idea that's going to get shot down by the majority of players.

Don't worry, every time the subject of some sort of rent system comes up, it gets soundly thrashed. SE is highly unlikely to implement one considering the negative player feedback when it comes up as a hypothetical.

This is actuality a great point. Maybe it's less about the shell FCs and more about housing that just sits empty. My bestie bid on a medium last year and lost it to someone that hasn't put a subject furnishing item inside or out

Just because the house hasn't been decorated yet doesn't mean the player isn't playing the game. They could well be doing a lot of activity that would earn them your "activity credits", accomplishing nothing.

I do just that but sometimes I'm in the middle of Nebraska, Wyoming and such and don't have internet connections. Since US long haul truckers have something called Hours of Service where the ELD (Electronic Logging Device) is watching us, we are forced to park once the ELD starts beeping, so many areas that are rural only have 2G cell service, so it's no good to play online. Even at many truck stops, the internet is not that great because of all the other truckers connected to it, so I can go weeks sometimes without playing depending on my route.

SE could add the ability to expand the inside of housing plots and apartments, I think that would satisfy many people, just use the ol TARDIS explanation for lore purposes similar to our item bags are treated. It would be more difficult to expand that to yards in a small such as P29 in LB being able to be upgraded to a medium or large, that would require expanding all housing zones but would hypothetically allow to have the entire ward be all mansions.
