How about no. Let people play the game as they want. If I have to travel for business during 3-4 weeks, got a mega workload or want to go on vacation, I shouldn’t be penalized. Some people may not be able to play due to sickness or other reasons too. There’s already the 45 day period in place,
which is more than enough. Btw some small fcs are a group of close friends or family members and that could become a burden.

    It’s a game, not a job.

What you should be asking instead is for SE to fix their ridiculous housing system.

Crafting an HQ item gives around 200 credits.
Honey its time for your 500 crafts of some HQ Boiled Eggsx3!

in all honesty, I am against any system like this

FC size is irrelevant, so is decorations, not everyone has a lot of friends or FC members or the ability to decorate their own,
Players who log in once in a while are just as valuable as those who log in daily.
Instead of trying to take away from players, how about we give more housing, make apartments better, or make island sanct, fit the empty space, they are close, they just need to add the ability to decor inside something, stable for chocobo, and a normal garden plot.

    Dear Squeenix,

I have figured out the perfect fix for the housing system. It's so much easier than trying to fullfill unrealistic demands to make housing available for everyone. Just make it more difficult for people who are not me to qualify to get or keep house so that people who are me will have an easier time getting a house. This will fix all the problems with housing.

    kthx

I believe the only merit system that would be fair is a slight advantage based on the number of times you have bid on a particular sized plot.

    Here's what I propose...

I think that the Devs should introduce a credit-based activity system that "pays" for a player to be able to keep their house. F.C.s currently have a credit system that allows for them to be ranked against other F.C.s in the game from an activity perspective, so such a system already somewhat exists.

For housing... they should make a weekly (or monthly) minimum limit to how many credits you must earn to keep your house. Let's use hypothetical numbers...

A Large personal plot would require 10,000 credits.
A Medium personal plot would require 7,500 credits.
A Small personal plot would require 5,000 credits.

A Large FC plot would require 100,000 credits.
A Medium FC plot would require 75,000 credits.
A Small FC plot would require 50,000 credits.

Now I'm not saying that these have to be the exact numbers, but they will work for the concept of the idea. Let's use numbers similarly to how FCs earn credits:

    Doing a dungeon gives around 400 - 500 credits.
Crafting an HQ item gives around 200 credits.

This would enable housing to be mostly reserved for active players. Players that log in once every 45 days simply to reset the timer on the demo should not be allowed to keep the house. Additionally, "shell" FCs should not be allowed to sit on houses that aren't being used. Walking around the ward my F.C. house is in - most of the houses (large and medium) have no furniture inside and the F.C. has only 2 or 3 people in it.

What about people who have jobs or other commitments that require them to be away from home for weeks on end?

    Truckers? People doing Military service?

Hard disagree with the idea of "Rent".

Already had to pay for the plot and the house itself, I shouldn't have to pay rent on something I own XD.

That's like saying "You just bought yourself a new pair of shoes, hehe now you gotta pay per month to use them!"

Shell FC's are a problem yes but this is not the way to solve it.

i understand doing something to keep your house. like Aion. So players that don't have a house, can have a chance to get your first house, and owning more houses would make it more risky to maintain keeping every house you own,by grind credit each week. i know you say there no way you cant do this, but there is , i was in Hospital for 3 weeks and i got time to get on this game and they didn't have internet , you can play this game using you mobile data through a laptop if you got that hardware, but i don't think this would be ideal for lazy people that just want a house to have a house. at this point there is no solution but to cry every day on the forums that one day the GM added more wards. there only about 1000 ward short, and if you want to leave a suggestions here, your going to get criticised by players that live on the forums, players to dont like change from others players, they just want the GM to give it to us, so we can cry about that too.

Strange how the system is suddenly working in your eyes now that you finally got a house when it wasn't working when you didn't have one.

Mao always believed Lottery was best system for game with limited housings. It does not solve the base problem of not enough houses buts it does distribute those houses as fair as possible.
