Alliance Raid Now iLvl Locked, Why??

Never claimed poetics are an issue for me, was simply responding to the user claiming it's not an issue, because it doesn't affect them.

As for me, it really depends on my mood. Sometimes I queue on a job that I just find easier to play. I mentioned in a previous posts Alliance Roulette as RDM was easier during Moogle Tome event than NIN.

That doesn't change the fact that the fix was poorly thought out and they should address it. If they did this but 1,5 years ago I would've been affected even more severely.

I think its just them making AR be an endgame roulette now rather than a common one anyone at any level or ilv can run. Thats most likely the intention.

But you are right it is a little troublesome because we also do have new players in non- Road to 80 buff servers that would like that exp reward/poetics on alt jobs anyway.

Now Im really confused.

Im a returning player and started a new character to relearn all my jobs.

I havent had an issue queing for Alliance raids, and I have everything up to Puppets bunker unlocked.

Granted, its only been 2 days, but Ive gotten CT (Of course) and Ivalice.

Im not sure where the issue is, but maybe you (Erzaa) should submit a petition to make sure your character isnt bugged.

I see. So the algorithm sees a high level player in low level gear and blocks them from joining the DF.

Yeah, i'd agree with the guys above that said pick up some trash gear off the market board to bump your Ilvl and see if that fixes things.

You don't have an issue because your character has an items appropriate for the level they're currently at. This is not a character specific issue, it's happening to everyone who is level 60 without level 60 gear, level 70 without level 70 gear, etc.

As soon as try to run an alliance raid roulette on a job that's level 90 you'll have the same problem.

"Just buy better gear" doesn't fix the fact that this was a badly implemented fix that leads to completely ridiculous behaviour, and also isn't a solution for characters on free trial.

What is the required Ilvl for level 90? And is it attainable through buying stuff from the market? Ie white items like Deepgold or whathaveyou.

You can get it with crafted gear, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that the entire design philosophy around gear has always been that you need gear for the content you're running, not the level you're at. There's never been a requirement or advantage from buying better gear than your current MSQ progress, why introduce one now? especially since you don't even actually need or get any benefit from that gear because you'll just be synced down to the duties you can actually get out of the roulette!

And, again, what is someone on free trial supposed to do if they hit 70 while they're still in Heavensward?

Im not sure why anyone wouldnt want to upgrade their gear as often as they can. Why fight with a level 60 weapon when you can have a level 90 weapon?

People on the free trial have it hard, I can see that. They cant even access the market board.

Seems to me though, the issue is more with the path to 80 buff giving way too much XP.
