People who want Miquo'te-ish have 4 options: Miquo'te (vanilla), Au'Ra (adding to it spices like flour), hyur midlander (for the most blank slate ever) and Viera (who is Miquo'te but tall and no tail).
If you want something more fierce you have: Hyur Highlander (the decent option), Elezen (giraffe cosplay) or Roegadin (vanilla fierce).

I want female Hrothgar for 3 reasons:
1. We have no option in-game for a tall female character with a tail. Miquo'te and Au'ra are short and Viera have no tail
2. I love FFX and Ronso especially since I was little, Kimahri best boy!
3. Ever since I started playing MMOs I always picked beast races, and when I couldn't I wished they would add one.

I hate that every time the discussion is brought up the only demographic people look at are the 30-something-year-old men who play female characters and what they like. Instead of looking at what women like to play

I don't particularly like playing beast races, but I can appreciate when something looks good. I do hope we get a nice, quality design. This would be more along the lines of my preferred type, if I was thinking of a femhroth. A woman that exudes confidence, and actually looks good. Not to mention being an actual beast race. NOT a demi-human. I definitely wouldn't want a miqo'te 2.0.


I definitely think people underestimate just how many women actually do play ffxiv.

I think that bodytype would translate quite badly in-game. It being very stocky, and bulky. Outfits would also likely stretch badly on it as well.

Depends. Whatever the design will be, will make it or break it for people. It is a huge reveal.

When male Hroths were revealed, they weren't left for last necessarily because they'd be less popular than Viera, it'd also be because they'd be controversial for having replaced male Viera (and also physically not ready to be presented until then, but that only further proves they were considered later on). Now there's no such pressure, so it'd make sense they'd announce them where the impact would be most noted, and also to 'start with a bang' as they say.

I don't know about that. Male viera were hugely requested, and they were spammed about it. It no doubt helped in marketing EW. Femhroth has always been a less popular, or more quiet request, and seems more like it has been tacked on, so that the races are 'complete' (in terms of playable gender).

I'm not holding my breath, but I live in hope that we finally get a big female option that has the same build (or bigger) than the male version.

Hopefully some differentiation between the 'races' of hroth, but this is what my expectations are set to, square enix do not put effort into anything that isn't going to be a major successful income investment.

Personally hope that SE don't just use FFX as their only source of reference and instead put effort into making it a bestial race and not... the fanart above.
Also I just realised Horthgar ears are not in the same spot as Ronso ears. That was neat to notice.

Well male Hrothgar are very dissimilar to male Ronso so I wouldn't expect the female Hrothgar to be much of anything like female Ronso.

thats because Hrotgar are Ronso just the ff14 version of them

on the first they are called Ronso I find it weird why they made that decision,

Also look at queen gunnhildr she is a female Roegadyn but with a Unique body seperate from the regular femake roegadyn body,
which makes me think that this body type was originally reserved for a female hrotgar but then got changed mid development,
then again I think the Gunhilder body is gonna be close to what the Female hrotgar are gonna look like

I'm just going to leave this here because even in 2023, it's still true. We only need to look to the design of au ra for insight into the designer's minds.

i mean my aura male is literally just a kpop singer with horns attached, while i do agree with this picture SO much. i think male aura look perfectly human too. (i should know ive spent ungoldly hours looking at my character in his underpants)
