FF needs to bring back its spark in its offline games, FFXIII and XIII-2 were utterly crap compared to the older ones such as FFVII, FFIX, FFX which used open-worlds with cities, shops tons of areas and complete freedom most of the time to go and do as you please, these latest ones (FFXIII) even restrict your ability to lvl up how and when you want to because you have to complete parts of the game to progress more.

FF fans need to stop lying to them selves FF 10 was not open world it was much as a straight line as FF 13 was and all FF games are linear no matter which way you look at it.

I agree with that, the battle system 7-10 was much superior to what came after it though.
