Because they were extremely repetitive and boring. As far as I can remember, nobody liked doing DR 15 times and nobody liked running crystal tower 20 times. Running old dgn's for low rate drops.

You were forced to do these things and don't get me started in light farming.

The classic relic steps were a massive choir that all it does is make you hate the content you're doing.

I think Bozja handled it the really bad as well because though it allowed you to get the items you needed in SF, it let you get them from old fates that were 100x more faster, that's just terrible design because all that tells you is you have to do fates.

Seriously...I honestly think people have gaslighted themselves into thinking this is fun game design. Really sorry to say that but it's true.

Why do we keep asking for old things and not new things? We as a community keep asking for new things but turn back around and ask for something old while simultaneously complaining SE doesn't change their formula.

Endwalker relic steps were a result of people complaining about the grind and now it's extremely successful because we can make our own fun by gathering tomes anyway we like while progressing the relic steps.

Endwalker made this relic extremely future proof compared to the older relics like gathering lights.

So even if you don't like endwalker solution.

Why do you ask for the old rather than asking for the new? Nobody likes a massive grind, ask for engaging content, not another snooze fest 24man grind. Do you REALLY want to do the neir raids 16 times? I doubt we do.

I have been running the exact same ARR content in roulettes for years while more and more abilities get chopped off my hotbar. That is what you are asking for, because that is the relic step now. At least Bozja gave us an option to play in a new zone. You are fighting against new things.

Old relic steps make you grind dungeons, raids, and FATEs for tokens and light.

Current relic steps make you grind dungeons, raids, and roulettes for tomestones.

I can see why people miss the story element of previous relics, especially people who aren't into the Mandervilles, but the process is a lateral move.

Players WERE asking for new things that are interesting to do. But after Slopewalker relics were sentenced to be the dedicated Premium Tomestone weapons, people started asking for old things, because they were BETTER.

The one who is gaslighting is you. Obviously Slopewalker relics are "extremely successful", because they are literally handed out for free. What a surprise!

And no need to go from one extreme to another. I also don't want another atma grind *shudder*. But I very much DO want to have a checklist of content that I can run to upgrade my relic, populating said content with players *cough* V&C dungeons *cough*

At first the threads from this account were so insane I thought it had to be someone making fun of him. But I haven't seen him post on the Ren account that this isn't him. So....is it?

As someone who did Bozja, there is something to note.

Bozja was not content with the sole purpose of obtaining a relic, Bozja was content with a relic attached to it. It had its own glamours and items, a variety of boss battles that may or may not be fan favourites of some and provided a good side content experience.

What you are right about is that the relic steps were weighted too harshly in favour of doing the relic steps outside of Bozja, especially the Delubrum Reginae one. What you fail to compare is the trade-off we received for not having this type of content this time around was a mediocre Deep Dungeon at level cap and an abominable Tomestone sink as the ONLY option to obtain the relic which you can ONLY farm using a level cap job, unlike Bozja where you could use lesser levelled jobs both inside and outside For that very purpose.

Yeah, the relic is now easy as f*** to obtain. The problem is what we sacrificed for it instead of advancing more into alternate combat systems.

For a while I was genuinely willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this was an alt targeting & pretending to be Ren but at this point I think it actually is him.
