Hey Aveyond. That .gif is... /cheffskiss
Like...I can HEAR that.
EDIT:
Agree with you on housing. If you mean "a requirement to do this an arbitrary amount of times to earn a reward" then that's not replayability, that's propping up content with rewards so people have to do it whether they enjoy it or not, and makes it impossible to judge whether people actually enjoy it and want more of it based on participation numbers.
...
Or just take the plunge and let go of the house if you only want to subscribe occasionally. It's not that exciting to own one, is it?
...but on the replayability thing: The trick is to make multiple ways to get a given reward. That way, players choose which thing they actually like. Granted, it's possible a player may not like ANY of the options. An extreme example of this (perhaps TOO extreme) is the current Relic where you can do anything that grants tomes to work on it...and MOST things in the game will give you some Causaility to work on it.
lol, and people hate it. XD
(Okay, not everyone, but quite a few.)
So I guess it's a balance, and a hard one to get, to give people things they find meaningful, not require them to do only one thing to get them that might be a thing they personally dislike, but not make it so open-ended that it loses its feeling of uniqueness and people's connection/feeling of satisfaction for obtaining it.
