Let it exist. I know that I'll be sticking to my LS for activities. It's just better to do activities where everyone knows the strategy.

I personally don't do pick up parties, because even if we're all good players... we may all have a different strat thus causing confusion and worst of all a wipe.

Personally I hate the PISS out of the Ward system.

A Ward system adapted for content however....

Drop in. Enter an instance with people all looking for the same thing. Can pick and choose from people you can physically see.

I still prefer the FFXI method though. Make the content difficult and all but force LS's to do them within. Makes much tighter bonds and less like for griefers/looters/dumbasses to sneak into events.

It's funny. A few days ago when this topic started heating up on the forums, I think the majority was definitely in favor of a WoW-like Content Finder, and when people disagreed the supporters (no reason to single anyone out) would just say: "dude you are the minority and you are selfish for wanting the game to pander to only your desires" - obviously paraphrased.

But the last day or 2 I have seen an overflow of people coming out of their hidey-holes to make their voices heard against a WOW-LIKE Content Finder. Caps for emphasis, because myself at least, I'm not against a Content Finder of some kind (in fact I support that), but I have a lot of concerns about immersion and community erosion if it is implemented similarly to how the LFD works in WoW.

Anyway, just wanted to say I'm happy to see people speaking up who are on the same page as me.

All the people against the content finder tool always got the same excuses, it ruins the community, no it doesn't go play with ur LS if you want friends or go on facebook, i want to play. it ruins our immersion, not even gonna touch that one. It sucks to be able to just teleport there i rather walk.... you can already teleport pretty much anywhere, whats the diff? Pple will ninja gear and leave, as if they would be too shy to do it if they were from the same server as you.

You don't get to plan..... plan what exactly? If you know how to play you just do that, and what you think that once you are teamed up with the content tool you can't talk to each other or something?

And then they go ahead and forget to mention all the benefits such as not waiting a damn 1h+ trying to find a PT. Being able to go do other things while you wait for the tool to match you. Being able to do multiple dungeons quickly as opposed to 1 or maybe 2 a day now. If you spend 1h find a pt and some idiot decides to leave in the middle well it will be much quicker to find a replacement with the tool then without. How many times did the healer leave in XI and you spend 30min looking for one then we just give up and the fun is all over?

Also who ever said you are forced to use the tool?

IMO SE's job is to make it easier to find groups and it is your job to build relationships. Don't blame SE because you dont want to put forth the effort to make friends.

Many XI vets made friends through grouping and now that they can't do that anymore and are forced to go out there and talk to people in town they cry.

    ○ Most players will do events with their LS and friends anyways.

    ○ Other players who don't have time to shout for members, or enough LS help will appreciate this feature.

    ○ The pros outweighs the cons.

This was an attempt to shine logic in everyone minds, but they'll ignore it and gaze upon my sig instead.

    This 100 times this !!

Make a half LS party half content finder group.

How anyone thinks that a random in Ul'dah is going to be any different than a random on another server is beyond me.

There is the same chance of meeting an Ahole, the same chance that person maybe a noob, maybe a ninja looter etc etc blady blah blah.

People need to stop coming up with strawman arguments about this stuff.

Like I've said before, for me it isn't the fact that the person is from another server. I could care less about that. My problem will be if we get insta-ported to dungeons all over the world, a la WoW. I play games like this to get into the world and experience the lore (especially Final Fantasy, come on). I want to "touch it and feel it."

The LFD functionality of WoW is outside of the world. They can't even be bothered to say "hey you can acquire this newfangled device that the Gnomes invented which utilizes a search network for adventurers, then magically teleports you all to a location together." I hope I am making sense? The way it is set up is just this random menu, disconnected from the fantasy of the world...

So I don't think I'm asking for too much, make it a cool quest to acquire this Content Finder and ground it within the lore of Eorzea.
