In ARR, Cleric Stance didn't even affect your oGCDs. In HW, it was still only 1 GCD longer of commitment than just deciding between an attack and a heal. It was a 2-GCD lock-in, and you spent most of your time in it. If someone is put in a situation where they'd unexpectedly die if they aren't healed significantly within a single GCD's time... twice within 5 seconds... that's going to be on them.

It was essentially bookend bloat-apm for what time you spent healing. Its inability to queue its cancel pairing poorly with less stable internet aside, it was not a challenge, only a chore. It wasn't awful, but it sure as hell wasn't depth.
