There really is no good argument for it. Honestly, the only thing that significantly hampers gil sellers and doesn't hamstring players is the inability to mail people other than on your friends list. Everything else falls into the problem that there is nothing that a single determined and wealthy player can't get around.

Let me just sell this egg for...I dunno...30 million. Surely no one would buy it?
