There really is no good argument for it. Honestly, the only thing that significantly hampers gil sellers and doesn't hamstring players is the inability to mail people other than on your friends list. Everything else falls into the problem that there is nothing that a single determined and wealthy player can't get around.

Not really. If you put a piece of junk gear on a mannequin and buy it with an alt that way then there isn't any tax at all.


Would be really bad for the health of the game in my opinion though. They'd have to nerf leves at the least, and probably anything else that could benefit from multiple accounts trading between themselves.

It's just some random argument. Gil sellers transfer stuff between their accounts/characters so easily, that's not really an issue.
