Nobody needs to, but that's entirely up to them. Personally, I'm gonna get my tomes through roulettes. I should get more than enough for what I need before the next patch.

This. A little clarity on which items are exclusive to the event would go a long ways in helping people decide between grinding out mogtomes versus something else.

"Show Only Recently added items" tells you which are the new exclusive to this round of Mogtomes - aka shows just the parasol and framer kit. Now technically the Taoist Moogle, Job Mastery prisms, and other 1 tomestone earrings are unable to collect via alternative methods outside of mogtome events- but they are the repeat items.
