Multiple Characters in Ver 2.0

I started a post long ago about this matter, since fee for extra characters was too high, should at least give it a good use to have multiple characters.

Something i suggested about it, was to allow us to pick wich character to log in and let us control as we normally do, and pick another one (AND ONLY 1 AT A TIME) to follow us as somewhat what NPC fellows were in XI.

allowing us to do the quest on both chars at same time and missions and what not, that would be awesome... if you ever played a gamme called "Secret of Mana (seiken densetsu II)" from SNES you get my idea.

It would help justify the crazy price. lol :3
I like the idea. I can't see SE letting us do this, but it'd be fun.

Yes, ffxiv is in a discounted state at $9.99. At full price, it's $12.99, so still cheaper than it's competitors. You can't play all the jobs in other games on one character, thus hte need for multiple characters per account. FFXI/V doesn't have that issue. And why would you want to play another character that didn't have your rare/ex items, other jobs leveled, your choco quest done, etc?

If it's really that big of a deal, go play one of those other games that are "cheaper". I think we'll manage without you, somehow.

No, because it causes a gigantic, incomprehensible nightmare with race conditions and security.

Not every MMO runs on multiple platforms either.

Why not make your main charcater both DoW-DoM and DoL-DoH?

I am doing that with my main character now. Hope to have nearly everything to 50 be Ver 2.0. What I am also hoping for is that in Ver 2.0 there will be more then enough content to warrant splitting the classes of the 2 characters. I do understand the agruments concerning the technical difficulties and the threat of Gil Farmers <of which I am not>. I was just thinking that with 2 platforms and the security arraignments in place i.e. Secrurity Tokens plus limiting the number of characters that an account can have on-line at 1 time it would be possible. If not fine I'll just move back and forth to accomplish what I want.

Not every MMO runs on multiple platforms either.

Completely different issues since these "multiple platforms" are still computers at the end of the day.
