I mean some of my glams aren’t exactly “normal” but all my stuff is actually dungeon and raid glams, I’m kinda sick of casual clothes
I miss HW too.
Back then you could only raid with people on your server (and later same data center), you had to search for people and socialize in order to find a group. You also had to go to the raid entrance to queue for the duty (Savage only). Game felt more alive back then than it does now. Now most of player interactions moved outside the game (Reddit, Discord).
So I guess QoL kind of killed the game social aspects.

Objectively false; I actually really enjoyed ARR and SHB as well. SB wasn't nearly as bad as EW, but not as good as ARR, HR or SHB. SHB proves your theory wrong. EW is the lowest point this game has ever had post 1.0, and the direction is only going lower.

It just seems you think that the people who genuinely like certain parts of that era are insane or lying about enjoying it because you found it boring or are making it up for enjoying it. Or that people only think they enjoy it because there looking back on it with nostalgia.A lot of what made early XIV feel like an MMO was no PF and no world travel. That addition has rather made it feel less like an MMO, but its QoL for many.
you used to not be able to just queue up for EX fights or raids, had to have full parties, and then go to the entrances (for raids anyway, EX fights just didn't let you queue DF)
I don't think crafting in HW was difficult, it was just tedious. I hated crafting and I could still do it. Everyone says it required skill, but you could macro all of it. Even melding was possible for non-crafter mains, as I was able to and I didn't have tons of gil back then.
I think a lot of the "complexity" of HW is overblown. Job balance was terrible because of the damage type debuffs. PLD was unwanted in raids because DRK had magic def CDs and every tankbuster in Alexander was magic based.
Some call that fun but I just found it boring. I didn't like the way DRK played back then, I liked how PLD played.

Which is why I said the average MMO player. Ofcourse there are the exceptional few.
Also Shb's content was better than Stormbloods?
Thats just factually wrong. Wrong forever my friend. We cant forget the infamous nickname it garnered during its run "Shallowbringers" for nothing.
Shb only really got its stride during the final patches when more people started to come into the game and favor started to it being generally good.
