Players ask for the bare minimum which is for Optional depth... not mandatory. Yet somehow players seem to constantly think every Raider or player passionate about gameplay wants the Content turned int the most extreme environment you can think of when our Jobs have been lobotomized patch by patch, expansion by expansion... Telling players to do the last 5% of content that makes up High End raiding is not the solution. Yoshi P's famous line " Just go Play Ultimate ", some of us enjoy complexity from our Jobs that we can apply everywhere completely optional...

Advocating that the majority want to walk at 3 miles an hour down " Arthritis Avenue " is totally fine. Knock yourself out... But if players have the option to want to drive 80 miles an hour and drift donuts through that same Avenue without ever affecting those pedestrians safety or them enjoying the idk scenery? Bet-chu the game would be a lot more fun for many other players. I want that excitement with the Car I am driving cause screw having it feel like Auto-Pilot bashing 1 button and 1 button alone ( I don't even drive a car? I'm just trying to make a point... )

    We're not even asking for " Grandparents Street " to be turned into a Lethal remade peak of mount Everest, with Earthquake simulations and falling meteors from the sky while dodging mathematically shaped lighting strikes fired from Yoshi P himself... we're not even asking what you all are trying to make it sound like regarding Hardcore player demands =u=;

The bare minimum of having Jobs with some extra layers, depth and flavor that is completely optional to master. Increased Skill-Ceiling that is your choice to use, not mandatory to master by keeping the Skill-Floor exactly where it is - it would just improve the game

I never understand why some people are so condescending towards one demographic or another. Your point could have been better received without the snarky comments. So you like to drive 180 ina 50 mile hour zone oh but wait you don't drive. You like harder content great! Hope they put some in for you, I like challenging content not necessarily harder just more of a puzzle kind.

Hot take, I think most people enjoy hard games but only if theyre solo. Team based challenges tend to frustrate more than satisfy the hardcore because of factors of fumbles and mistakes of other playeres when theyre performing the encounter well. Also the loot reward distribution creates more stress for the player because people hate to feel like their time is being wasted.

Its basically the lack of personal agency.

Sometimes it is people coming from another MMO and want it to be like the one they just left, why leave in the first place? Also add to that, is that they probably complain about other stuff when they was in previous MMOS.

Mostly it is just trolls on the FFXIV Forum, that just should had moved on long time ago.

The DT kind speech is really on the way out, and is ridicoulous.
I aint forget your atrocious take of calling anyone with criticism a troll

Looks like 99% of your takes are massive L's (and that's me being positive)

    People enjoy easy games.

That's why Summoner, Warrior, and Dancer are some of the top most played jobs.

Summoner saw a massive boost in playability after it was reworked and made easy.

    The majority has spoken.

Not everyone plays a job because it's easy to play. I play dancer because i enjoyed it in ff11 and like the aesthetics of its abilities and gear on ff14 and find it fun.

This is so true. Most of the time people pick classes because of their own personal tastes no matter if its easy or hard of if its the meta (to a certain extent on that one though).

I love playing Machinist even though its not as viable solely because I like its aesthetic. Same feeling goes to Red Mage or White Mage or Summoner. I love the class identity even though I criticize the dullness of healing and playstyle of Summoner (although it being actual summons rather than dot mage is the best direction imo and hopefullu gets expanded with 7.0

Same. Summoner was always my primary DPS since ARR, through all it's many iterations. Rydia and summoning in general is a class I always enjoy.

Warrior I picked up for narrative reasons given what happens in ShB and a main story character.

WhM I really just like the Holy Druid theme and is closest to Clerics in other games.

So I play several easy classes due to theme, and coincidentally they are all presently among the easier classes. I also play Monk which is harder (to me) and BLM which isn't hard but has a reputation for being so for thematic reasons.

But I think Tanis is still right about the increase in popularity, even if it's not the only reason peope play the classes.
