No it's not real, I'm currently a tank/caster DPS main, I never feel anxious tanking, not even in Ultimates, not even in Criterion or DRS where aggro and positioning matter.

No it's not normal to feel anxiety over a VIDEO GAME, whether you're casual or hardcore.

If you unironically feel anxious at having to tank, go see a therapist, unironically go see one. It's not normal. It means you are extremely, extremely fragile, so fragile you unironically get anxious at something completely virtual, you'll need to get it fixed.

Even if you suck at the game no it's not normal to feel anxious. Why do you care that you suck? It's VIRTUAL, it does not matter.

One point that is probably worth mentioning is that tanking an alliance raid during the period it is still new content is an entirely different experience compared to when it's old content and the power creep has moved beyond it giving the majority of players an ilvl advantage that allows them to ignore or skip fight mechanics.

That is primarily true for the first two, where at minimum things just hurt less. The third raid effectively tier syncs so it remains pretty intact. But the effect is far worse on the earliest ones from ARR and Heavensward.

I also forgot about the random bouts of idiots spamming provoke because you keep pulling enmity off them by just doing your rotation but if you turn stance off the boss goes running around after non-tanks... >.>

I just keep it on. If they want to tank then they need to do more damage than me (or spam Provoke I suppose but that's lame). If even Provoke isn't enough for them then unfortunate for them.

I agree with what was said and would like to add one thing. For the love of all that is holy, please don't ping-pong aggro between the tanks. Especially if they have big cleave attacks. I have seen too many wipes to Haircut because some genius decided to Provoke and Calofisteri turned around unexpectedly.

Secondary to this, if you are going to fight for aggro, please stand next to the person you are fighting with so the boss stays still.

On the contrary, I've noticed the highest amount of toxicity to new tanks in Alliance raids, a lot of people there are only there for the daily reward and want out as soon as possible, so any slipups on the tank side is ususally met with spits of venom and salt. I can see why that would put off newer players.

Have played a lot of them, on all three roles, and never seen this. The closest thing to this is when tanks are pulling things together that need to be separated, which will usually get an "/a pull them apart!" or the like. But that's not toxicity for "any slipups on the tank side". Most people don't want to draw attention to themselves, so won't say anything unless whatever the tanks are doing are causing wipes. That's not generally going to happen unless ALL three of the tanks are brand new. And even then, it's far more likely you'll get a quick explanation of the fight than a cussing out. Again, most people want to keep their heads down.

I've seen one time I can think of someone tried starting something, and first one, two, and then half the alliance told them to zip it and that things were fine and we'd get through it, and that shut them up for the rest of the run.

I know a grey healer who can't clear a single tier can't ever fathom that other players are clearing Ultimates. It's OK bb no one can hurt Sylphies in MSQ land.

By the way, others have already told you my main before. You just casually ignored the evidence and changed the goalpost to require that I post on my main. I know you already looked me up once and realize that I've done everything I've said I've done.
