Removal/Deny of any and all third-party-tools would just hurt Square's wallets as they would lose subscribers. We'd need something a lot more larger to happen as Mods are bit more subtle as you can't really know who is using them or not unless you're friends or share... Something that would affect everyone's desire to play or effects the gameplay directly regardless. Think...
  • Company Scandals
  • Heavy P2W features like lootboxes implemented
  • NFT implications on Mogstation
  • Heavy Job imbalances or broken interactions causing outrages
  • Consistent disconnect/lag issues for long periods
  • Subscription cost increased heavily
  • Large exploitation practices, think duplication glitch
  • Dev's leaving or god forbid? passing away.
And most of what's on this list is not applicable to FFXIV or the Dev's and its creator. No matter how many flaws FFXIV currently has and we could name up or throw plenty at the Forum threads, it's not going to die by removal of third party tools and mods, mhm.
