It's not just mods. It's also the community created resources. Who will keep playing the game if all FF14 Discords disappeared suddenly? Almost no one is playing the game because of the game. They are playing it because of what the community has created. Just think of content like Baldesion Arsenal. Almost no one would ever do it if the Discord dies. Or Savage. No one would do it if there are no guides. We owe far more gratitude to the community than to the developers.

You are mostly wrong - the community exists because people are playing the game, not the other way around.
But be that as it may - how is FFXIV different from any other MMO in this regard? Players use community-made information for all of them - and for plenty of single-player games as well.

You have about 0.5 sec on a 2.5 sec cast. This is highly latency dependent and also results from the communication between sever and client. Try to slidecast with a Slipstream. You can, but you're very likely going to clip your GCD to do so. If you don't care, that's fine, you can do that. But that's what I'm referring to. You can get some motion, but you're cutting into your next CD with longer casts.

If you want to know what I'm trying to get you to see, just ask. You didn't ask me for evidence any over the past month. If you had I would have tried to find that thread to show you. In a last ditch hope that you DO want to be fair:

What I was trying to get you to see was all the times I mentioned that you can slidecast with full GCDs. I think the issue was, as came out later in the thread (MUCH later) that I was using the term to describe the entire window you can move in, not just the small bit of latency, and how much movement you can practically achieve with them (why I mentioned approximate distances). Something another poster even pointed out:

I feel that people sometimes confuses slidecasting with moving during the alloted time for your oGCDs. A BLM can move in both situations, second one is easier because you don't have that 'invisible gauge' to get a hang of.

Which reminds me, Squeenix could really implement a QoL feature like the WoW addon that shows the slidecast window in your castbar, depending on your latency.

If you DO care about that, and look at what was being discussed and why that was relevant, then I hope you do so.
