I sometimes think that a lot of people here hate everything about the game. And I wonder why they play it. The game has a lot of problems, yes. But it also has a lot of good stuff. :3You're fine.
You just posted something positive in a doomsaying thread completely clogged with the people that totally(insist) the love the game and only have valid critiques and don't attack other players because they want what's best for the game totally. /sarc
They don't like people posting positive things, so if anyone does, they harass the person until they leave the thread and/or forum. The ones that make 'em really mad are those of us that don't bow to their harassment and leave but continue to praise the game for what we think it does well and critique it for what we have issue with while somehow not brigading or dog-piling on people that disagree with us.
Well, it worked for G'raha when he was the Crystal Exarch, and he had his tail like that for a century.
As a kitty player myself though, all I can say is, ouch.![]()
What outfit was his tail missing? Was it the robe it could have been under or something skin-tight where it just vanished due to ineptness?
It would destroy the look of the Phönix Riser outfit if tails would clip through. And it's not the only costume without tails. Imagine the frog costume with tails clipping through.
I could imagine that that's the true reason for this decision. It wouldn't be a lot of work for them to let tails clip through. So I think it was a decision.
Seems like it was more of an artistic choice than any sort of technical limitation or "being lazy." Tails poke through other one piece outfits so I see no reason the same couldn't be done here if they wanted to.
Whether that choice was good or bad would be in the eye of the beholder. If one tailed race player wants the tail to show and another prefers it gone, who is correct? Ideally the solution would be to give everyone the choice between the two but unfortunately there is no /tail feature at the moment.
His Exarch outfit lacked a tail and as he wore his hood up for much of ShB, it completely disguised the fact he was a miqo'te (or mystel) so people just assumed he was a partially crystallized hyur (or hume) - Crystarium gossip though mentioned that people could swear they saw the hint of a tail peeking out under his robes, and that he apparently hid it by wrapping it around his waist like a belt.
Of course I lack a citation for that, and in the end he stopped hiding his appearence after Mount Gulg anyway, so that particular cat is now long out of the bag (pun intended).![]()
I forgot to try out the outfit before I logged out. Oh well I'll try it out next time. I hated how I couldn't skip all the cutscenes but glad each option had a "Nah...I'm not doing anything" option and it still complete.
When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
Strange, how quickly some new faces turn to make things counter-intuitive to what would be best for the player.(even the option for a case by case basis)
Yet they fully take that stance that clearly isn't meant to imply negativity by fake positivity.
It's simple, keep the judgement of races out. People can dislike certain aspects of in-game races as they wish, but when in the discussion of taste. None here are wrong.
But in the discussion of best overall for the player the option to chose preference is best over all.
You also cannot truly say it was a Stylistic choice as the outfit on larger or smaller races clearly have a gap between the two sets of drapped gear on the Lower back.
Which is more than enough to have tail placement there.
The Honest answer, they could of done more with the whole set.
There really is no positivity in taking a opposing view(Regardless on a individual preference on tails, or lack of even having one) it honestly just creates fruitless back and forth on a thread only about how this one item has been race deleting features like many before that gotten fixed.
(not like Viera/Hrothgar or other races complain about the racial delete before.)
Ideally, it would either have the tail sheathed or armored somehow to match the suit, or an option to toggle it on or off. But only headgear gets toggles. Sometimes.
If I were still a Miqo'te or Au Ra, I'd hate to have my tail cut off. It'd just feel wrong without it. But it's not like I was gonna use this suit anyway.
does the lack of tail thing apply to Au Ra as well?
